• Develop safety policies to minimize risks, outline safety procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance with federal occupational health and safety laws and regulations. Explain how to prevent accidents, implement safety plans, and respond to emergencies, also use knowledge of environmental laws and regulations to review company practices and devise processes to address the impact of a company's practices on the environment.
• It is up to HSE engineers to detail accidents and safety issues within an occupational setting. They work with managers, and other personnel to investigate incidents, offer solutions, and follow up to ensure that the issue leading to the incident has been addressed and corrected.
• Train the employees in an organization & contractors on health and safety regulations & provide different required training to give more education & awareness to work safely within the organization.
• Monitor personnel and workspace.
• Always ensure the company is prepared to submit the appropriate document.
• Encourage and advocate for safer work equipment, materials and supplies.
• Track the number of incidents and produce reports.
• Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals.
• Attend seminars/workshops for further education.
• Conduct internal audits within an organization, with & contractors.
• Taking parts in external & internal audits.
• Preparing performance evaluation for the contractors & OHS teams on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Prepare, conduct and document MOM with owner, consultant, clients & contractors.
• Handling 25 numbers of contractors single handedly.
• Prepare weekly, & Monthly reports based on KPI- key Performance Indicators.
• Plan, implement, and execute safety management programs
• Observe, audit, and monitor safety on job sites, including personnel, equipment, and materials
• Conduct audits, inspections, and performance reviews to ensure compliance
Providing guidance to the project management team regarding health and safety issues and ensuring the site complies with all industry
• Evaluation and analysis of previous injury reports based on available data
• Manage and lead inquiries on accidents and injuries
• Conduct research on changes in environmental regulations and policies to ensure compliance
Conduct training sessions for employees to prevent workplace accidents
• Prepare webinars and meetings to create awareness of health and safety practices
• Identify safety issues, propose solutions, and provide recommendations
• Ensure that all employees work in accordance with the internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices
• Make sure that notification, investigation, and case management of project site injuries and incidents are in collaboration with management
• Assessment of health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment and adherence to legal requirements
Maintain employee compliance with safety laws and policies
• Ensure a safe work environment by overseeing the inspection and maintenance of equipment
• Implementing new employee onboarding processes focused on safety and health management.
• Conduct regular reviews and update procedures to keep abreast of current operations and comply with regulations.
• Maintain a proper record of workers’ compensation claims in case of accidents.
• Support the HSE Manager and team with planning, coordinating and implementing of effective HSE policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure that the department objectives are met.
• Provide support to Project and Operation team in all aspects of safety, occupational health, safety and environmental issues.
• Support the HSE Manager in ensuring HSE compliance power plant perform regular HSE audits in the areas of business and vessel operations.
• Attend pre-job, planning and client meetings as required on HSE related matters.
• Provide support to the dept. on the implementation of Company-wide HSE initiatives eg. ISO 14001, OHSAS 45001, etc.
• Assist with developing HSE plans that comply with Company policies and procedures as well as client requirements
• Ensure training, tool box meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the company’s offshore training and HSE program, i.e. emergency response systems, etc.
• Investigate and complete the process for close out of all Accident Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned to the Regional HSE Manager for promulgation to the management
• Manage Safety Statistic reporting. Track and provide regular HSE performance reporting to the HSE Manager.
• Conduct HSE trainings and orientation to all new employees.
• Ensure all worksites are HSE compliant with Company policies and safety standards.
• Support HSE personnel’s in the development of work site HSE campaigns and good practices.
• Assist in ad-hoc HSE tasks/projects as required.
• Planning safe working practices and making necessary changes
• Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
• Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely
• Writing internal health and safety policies/strategies
• Drawing-up safe operational procedures
• Making regular site inspections
• Compiling statistics
