Responsible for business success and profitability through equipment trading and rental of company’s equipment assets while managing an annual revenue stream of more than AED 37 million at 18 percent target profitability. Key functions included:

Signature Achievements
• Developed and implemented a new business strategy to shift focus from retail trading to contract trading. Subsequently devised a five-year plan for systematic entry into heavy equipment trading and expand regionally.

Overall management of transport division including but not limited to, business development, fleet operations, fleet management, relationship management and supply chain management. Generating profit out of company’s fleet of nearly 1500 units comprising of flat & low bed trailers, car carriers, recovery vehicles, cargo trucks, passenger transport, tipping trailers, dump trucks, tankers, cranes, forklifts, earth moving & asphalting equipment, and static plant. • Lead operations such as planning, scheduling, route and load optimization, dispatch and delivery, revenue recognition, billing, cash collection, and fleet maintenance.
• Lead business development, client relations, tendering and contracting processes.
• Manage 3 central and 3 site facilities comprising workshops, yards, stores, and fabrication shop for repairing of tippers and trailers bodies.

Responsible for establishing PMV (plant, machinery & vehicles) department and subsequently expanding fleet in line with business strategy. Functions included:
• Assets planning and acquisition based on business strategy and sustainability analysis.
• Equipment mobilization and site induction. Handle registration, insurance, CICPA and Delma affairs, security passes, Zone 2 requirements and TPI certifications.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance cycles; manage breakdown repairs, overhauls, and strategic shutdowns on life cycle management approach.
• Drivers, operators, and technicians training, and performance reporting on KPIs.
• Track and control fleet through telematics, record utilization, and generate KPI reports such as % availability, % utilization, % idling, fuel index, MTBF and MTTR etc.
• Maximize fleet utilization by strategic planning and back-to-back scheduling. Offset idling through cross rentals. Handle warranty and aftersales packages.
• Estimate and club all equipment costs to prepare internal hire rates and budgets.

Signature Achievements
• Established PMV department of the company in Abu Dhabi in one year by creating organizational structure and systems. Developed 15000 sqm base facility in Abu Dhabi comprising equipment workshop, fabrication area, warehouse, and fleet yard.
• Developed a robust team of 6 core staff and 200 plus direct operatives.
• Lead procurement process of 300 equipment units.
• Generated additional revenue of AED 6 million through cross rental of assets in FY 2018 - 2020.
Spearheaded regional operations for Equipment and Plant fleet management for construction and plant maintenance divisions of Descon in UAE and Qatar with an additional roll of looking after supply chain and subcontracting for plant maintenance division thereby managing an annual spend size of more the 100 million USD.
• Managed a fleet mix of 2000 units comprising heavy cranes, lifting equipment, earth moving machinery, heavy and light transport, concreting equipment, air compressors, Power and welding generators, bundle pullers, HP jetting machines and more.
• Managed robust and professional teams with 14+ core staff and 700+ direct operatives.
• Managed 2 central, and 5 site facilities for equipment repairing and warehousing.
• Managed subcontracting involving 30-45% project cost. Major packages included painting, insulation, scaffolding, HP jetting, chemical cleaning, catalyst handling, valves overhauling, bolt torquing, NDT, heavy lifting, and rental hiring of equipment.
• Managed supply chain of more than 30, 000-line items. Major procurement groups included mechanical, civil, E&I, welding consumables, assets, general consumables, tools, safety & medical, boarding & lodging, POL & gas and spare parts.
Managed E&P operations for all projects of Descon in Qatar with a robust and professional team of 7+ core staff and 300+ direct operatives. Managed 1 central, and 2 site facilities for fleet repairing.
Signature Achievements (Entire tenure of Descon):
• Managed E&P operations at 7 plant construction projects with 3 to 5 percent savings against budget. Project’s value ranged from 50 to 170 million USD. Major sites included Barzan 1 and PMP in Qatar; UZ750 (Offshore), Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and ADCO Tie-ins in UAE.
• Managed E&P, supply chain, and subcontracting operations at 30+ shutdowns with 5 to 7 percent savings against budget. Project’s value ranged from 10 to 30 million USD. Major sites included Borouge, Gasco Ruwais, Ruwais Takreer, and ENOC in UAE; Qatar Gas, Dolphin, Ras Gas, Rloc, QP, NGL, Qapco and Q Chem in Qatar.
• Lead successful implementation of SAP (ETM, PM and MM modules) in 2015 - 2017.
• Managed outsourced heavy lifting operations at above sites. Cranes used were Demag CC 8800, CC 2800, CC 2500, CC 2400, AC 1000, AC 700, AC 500 and Liebherr LTM 11000.
• Mobilized more than 1200 heavy equipment units (300 owned and 900 rental) in single shutdown season (2014 -15) at 10 project locations with 7% savings against the budget.
• Generated additional revenue of AED 12 M by cross rental of assets in FY 2015-18.
• Relocated centralized base facility of Descon from Ruwais to Ghyathi in Abu Dhabi. In the process the old facility comprising of a worker’s camp, 3 bays fabrication shop, sand-blasting & painting shop, PWHT shop, RT bunker, equipment repair shop, central warehouse, and office facilities were dismantled to ground zero level and rebuilt at new location at an area of 105, 200 Sqm.
