JOB DESCRIPTION:
❖ To understand the importance of the water work fully away about the duty Responsibilities and safety. Occupational hazards and standard safety practices necessary in the area of work assigned.
❖ Supervise and monitor RO/sewage treatment/DM/MED plant operated equipment's for entire shift and prepare shift log reports in order to ensure continued operation of the plant in a safe and reliable manner and the plant parameters are maintained within the required standard. Reports operational abnormalities to the maintenance department and follows up to ensure proper response and work continuity. Communicate directly with Maintenance personnel if the problem is considered priority.
❖ Follows up Permit to Work and Safety Tags to carry out the required maintenance work includes isolation of problem areas and perform electrical switching as may be needed.
❖ Train and develop Capabilities of Control Room and Field Operators to improve their performance of the current job. Follows up the shift operations through the work instructions given by the operations Engineer to fill in gaps and ensure water plant equipment and auxiliaries utilization is maximized with minimal costs and within the prescribedstandards. Follow up on existing problems and progress corrective steps throughout the shift to reach resolution of problem
❖ Review Control Room and Field Operators log sheets to determine if they were completed accurately and whether or not there are deviations from standard parameters.
❖ Controlling the unit operations at the work place by Programmable Logic Control (PLC) integrated with centralized Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control system.
❖ Produce water as per requirement and apply in the town, Industries and for irrigation field with aspect to our standard demands. Having efficient experience on4000cubic meters per day capacity of Sea Water Reverse Osmosis plant, 12320 cubic meters per day waste water treatment plant (Utilizing SCADA /DCS controlling system to monitor all treatment process operation and sensitive stationary pumping station), 750 cubic meter per day MED plant (multi effect distilled plant) by the support of pressure heat exchangers and AALBORG Exhaust gas boiler, Sea water cooling pump stations for wartsilla power generation engines and De-mineralized (ion-exchange) Plant and its accessories.
❖ Responsible for monitoring all the unit operations and online process parameters and taking corrective actions in conjunction with the ahead of the operation and process through such as R.O feed pumps, cartridge filters, bag filters, high pressure booster pumps, R.O skid, Vessels, Semi permeable membrane, chemical dosing pumps, digasifier, transfer pumps, deep well pumps, panel boards, chemical cleaning unit, pretreatment, post treatment, manifolds, STP lifting station, raw water entrance, bar screen, receiving pit, equalization tank, submersible pumps, Aeration tank, surface aerator, compressor blowers, settling tank or clarifier, multi-media filter or open sand filter tank, boiler drum, chlorination, reactivated sludge process, thickener, digester tank, decanter machine (centrifuge), To manage the complete DM Plant functions correctly and efficiently as per laid down procedures/ contract. Operation and maintenance of several sand & multimedia filters. Well versed back washing of the multimedia filters. Annual open the sand filters or gravel filter and clean inside. Replacement of cartridge filters and bag filters. Familiar of RO membranes cleaning as per Schedule /requirement by using chemicals such as citric acid, EDTA, Sodium tri poly phosphate, Amoniam hydroxide etc. and Regeneration of D.M plant (cataion& anion) resins by hydrochloric acid and basic (salts)
❖ Adequate Experience in Operation & Maintenance of Municipal and Industrial Sewage treatment Plant Primary treatment (screening, grit removal, equalization system), Biological or secondary treatment (Anoxic, Aeration, membrane filtration and sludge recirculation system) . Knowledge of membrane filtration, air diffusers, nitrification and de-nitrification. Smooth conduction of Biological activated sludge process (Aerobic process), Sludge management and safe disposal which include sludge thickeners, anaerobic sludge digesters and operation of centrifuge machines for dewatering.
❖ Control on the optimum process chemicals used in water treatment for different proposes by conducting necessary tests as required. Monitoring the consumptions of various chemical and other consumables and maintaining the records. Entering the analytical results obtained in the computer/log book. Perform laboratory test such as pH, DO, TDS, free residual chlorine, conductivity, SDI, TSS, SS, turbidity etc. to analyze quality logging all parameters every day. Understand and follow oral and written instructions Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of all parameters, chemicals and their dosing adjustments, Responsible for removing of carbonate hardness by dosing sulphuric acid for R.O feed, pre dose and post dose of chlorine for restrict of harmful bacteria's (disinfection), Anti dose chlorine by sodium Meta bi sulphate to protect R.O membrane, Sodium hydro oxide and sodium bi carbonates for PH adjustments, Anti-scalent chemicals such as m 50, PC-191 and aqua treat use to protect of scale formation such as phosphonate, silica and fluoride etc. for R.O and MED plant, Poly-aluminates (Polymer) for use sludge treatment in decanter machine (centrifuge), Ferric chloride for flocculation in multimedia filters.
❖ Lead, plan, train, and review the work of staff responsible for operating and maintaining the City's pumping facilities. Plan, direct, and participate in the pump station and lift station duties. Assist in supervising the use of and operating pumps, boosters and water flow regulators; maintain adequate water pressure in system. Maintaining log records, inspection and operation of all control panels concerned with all mechanical and electrical devices and equipments like penstock, bar screen, paddle, mechanism, classifier, compressor, air blower, pump etc.
❖ Recording the information related to Starting and Stopping of plant units. To carry out routine checking record the data of feed water andPermeate water tank levels, high pressure pumps and motor temperatures (using temperature gauge), chemical dosing tank levels. Instructing operators regarding backwash of multimedia filters maintain the recovery in RO, as per the requirement of the plant. To ensure smooth functioning of the plant using PLC system, monitoring the parameters like pH, conductivity, Feed, Permeate (Product) flow, Reject (Sump) pumps discharge pressure etc. as per the requirements and check the SDI (silt density index) values.
❖ Monitor - raw water, clarified water, DM water, condensate return, feed water, boiler water, saturated steam, superheated steam, etc.
❖ Detecting, observing and listing all leakages in unit's raw, feed, reject, and product lines, chemical closing lines and chemical tanks etc.
❖ Follow up of Quality Management system, Environment management system and occupational health, safety & assessment series. Logistic support for safe & sound mobilization and demobilization of equipment and proper handling of material to and from site.To verify and maintain the record of equipment invoices as per work orders and time sheets.
❖ Monitored of different types of valve related to water treatment plants such as gate valve, non-return valve (check valve), motor operated valve (MOV), butterfly valve, ball valve, solenoid valve etc.
❖ Ensure the house-keeping and cleanliness of work area and machinery is maintained by respective operating personnel to have trouble free running of the plant and bring equipment to show room condition. Weekly and daily housekeeping of whole plant, Perform weekly testing of equipment and machinery to maintain quality assurance and high performance. Conduct all type of preventive and mechanical-maintenance. Perform Mechanical Maintenance & Lubrication of pumps and equipment's. Checking of Lubrication system and lubricating with grease or lubrication oil to high pressure pumps, low pressure pumps and compressors. Adjustments or change-outs such as valve and pump packing, belt change or adjustment. Pressure gauge, thermometer or filter change-out etc.
❖ To have record for all optional information properly early and constantly in the log sheet. Daily routine checking and inspection of pumps in "ON LINE" and "OFF LINE" monitoring and reading of pumps of their auxiliaries at pumping station. Techniques respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner, provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner. Materials tools and equipment used in maintaining pumping facilities. Estimate time, materials, and equipment required for jobs assigned; requisition materials as necessary. Verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specification. Perform other duties as assigned maintenance and repair of water pumps.
