Accountable for overseeing the operations of the KBR Materials Department within the Kuwait region. My responsibilities encompass the effective management of several key components, namely the primary Materials Office, the Federal Supply System Office, the Container Receiving/Shipping Yard, the Vehicle Receiving/Shipping Yard, as well as three warehousing facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse facility in Kuwait.
• Develop and implement effective warehouse strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels, track shipments, and ensure accurate record-keeping of stock.
• Coordinate and supervise the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods and materials.
• Implement and maintain warehouse safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Train and manage warehouse staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain inventory accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
• Utilize warehouse management systems and software to track and manage inventory, orders, and shipments.
• Prepare reports, analyze data, and provide recommendations for process improvements and cost-saving measures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to warehousing and
logistics.
OPERATION MANAGEMENT: Improve and Develop Warehouse flow of work such as Planning, Scheduling, Assigning work, In-Bound (Docking, Offloading, Segregation, QC (Shortages, Expiry, Damage, Transit etc), Inventory (Qty etc), Palletization, Bar Code Labeling, Shrink rapping, Put-Away) & Out-Bound (Picking, QC, Inventory, Caging, Dispatching/Shipping), and others activities such as Comingling, Marshaling, Replenishment, Disposing, Space Management based on Customer forecasts, high/low peak times, supervising subcontracted workforce work, Warehouse facility, equipment and building maintenance, House Keeping etc in order to meet deadlines and timely delivery of product to the assigned destinations. Ensure proper job closing & billing details are provided to the Finance Dept.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT: through periodical check, generating Locations Bar Code System and recommending changes in WMS System such as Reports.
PROCESS MAPPING: Drafting Documents such as Process Flow, Information Flow, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Forms, Work Instructions, Job Descriptions JD’s. SLA’s etc. Reviews the processes periodically, effects changes and recommends revisions to IMS. Escalating QC\QA issues with QC Team for matters raised by them, take measures to promptly resolves them.
SAFETY & SECURITY: Reviews Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Preventive Action for accident Reports & pending recurring issues. Monitors Insurance Claims, Recurring Health issues, Pest Management and Sanitation Control Mechanisms periodically. Safety Posters, Safety Evacuation System, Assembly Point, CCTV, Occupational Accident Investigation.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Coordinates with WMS Team for new / different systems implementation. Escalates technological applications requirements and constraints in existing System by coordination with IT on novel implementation and pending issues.
VALUE ADDED SERVICES (VAS): Reserved Inventory, Kitting, VMI (Vendor Management Inventory), Custom Warehousing, Break Bulk Pick & Pack Service, Same Day Shipment, Career Selection & Freight Routing, Export Documentations, FIFO/LIFO/FEFO/LEFO, LOT/BATCH Processing, Cycle Counting, Bar Coding, Scanning, Picking & Co-packing, Return Processing / Reverse Logistics, Cross Docking, Shrink Wrapping, Labeling & Relabeling, Re palletizing, Disposal, Merchandising, Packaging, Sortation.
EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT: Motivates the line Staff to ensure set targets are met, specific Project plans are implemented & Administrative issues are concluded. Facilitates the Staff Training/Coaching, by providing Safe, Secure, Clean and Fair work Environment. Assist HR Team in Recruitment and Placement of Talented and Passionate Staff. Sanctions leave, issues violations, takes disciplinary actions, escalating pending housing, accommodation and payroll issues. Evaluates Staff performance Quarterly.

TRAINING: Monitor and evaluate performance in partnership with the DMD and HR. Coordinate with L&D for personnel developmental needs and prioritizes accordingly.
DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT: Order Management such as Online Orders i.e. Express Deliveries (Within 4 hours time frame), Next Day, 2/3/4/5 Days Deliveries, Cash On Deliveries (COD), Store Pickup, Offline Orders / Purchases like Mega Stores and Malls etc that meet Service and Efficiency Standards, Ensuring Customer Satisfaction, Route Planning, Vehicle & Drivers Management, Minimize Fuel Consumption and Time Laps, Monitoring GPS System, issuing Fuel Cards, Renewing Registration Books, Checking Blue Book, and Tidiness etc. Vehicle Accident, Claim of Insurance and dealing with Traffic Police. Preparing of Vehicles Manifests and other related records/ documents, such as No & type of orders per driver, Orders Per Areas & Cost wise, etc for Analysis. Inter Department Coordination, in the event of irregular vehicle arrivals. Direct involvement on ensuring the legalities of vehicles leasing, insurance and drivers licenses validity etc.
PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT: Ability to go through Old Massive Manual System, determine the Bottle Neck & Recommend Adjustments, Design and Plan new layout for the Warehouse & Outlets, Reallocate/Restructure into new fully Automated System without interruption. Strong Contact in Market with Contractors, Suppliers & Vendors to get Competitive Quote in order to co-ordinate for Advantageous Procurement of Goods (incl. Samples) Services, Delivery, Payment Terms and Account Settlement for the rest of Warehousing Department.
WASTE MINIMIZING & DISPOSAL: Control wastage of goods and raw materials, through improved handling, accurate purchase forecasting, eliminating obsolete and off-spec material, reduce aging material. Issue aging reports and follow up on expiry dates of all goods in Warehouse.
RISK ASSESSMENT & DISASTER RECOVERY: Implementing strategies to reduce risk relating to stock loss and shrinkage. Hazard Identification & its risk, based on OHSAS-18001. Ensure that all Chemicals used & stored conform to MSDS Standards.

AUDIT: Reviews Reports and Audits all facilities fortnightly to ensure Safety, Health, Security & Sanitation guidelines are met as per IMS Manual. Extend upport to Business Units by Internal Audit support prior to External Audits (ISO); take necessary steps towards timely closure of NCR’s raised.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies. Implementation of Six Sigma, KAIZEN, KANBAN Techniques.
CUSTOMER SATISFACTION: Ensures the Client requirements are met in keeping with the contractual obligations.
REPORTING: Reviews regular Reports provided by Line Staff, Verifies, Compiles, Analyze Data for Costing, Budgeting, Forecasting, P&L Validation, Financial Statement, CBM, Metric & KPI Benchmarking monitoring, Inventory, MHE's, CAPEX, OPEX, IRR etc.
MEETINGS: Holds periodic informal meetings with Employees and Managers, in Groups or individually, to discuss Questions & Concerns, Provides the Minutes of Meetings and Briefings to Staff.
Master in Computer Sciences (MCS) from Preston Institute of Management Sciences & Technology (PIMSAT) in November 2002. Secured 1920/ 2200 marks with 3.5 GPA.
Bachelor of Commerce from University of the Punjab - Lahore, in January 1998. Secured 720/ 1300 marks with 2nd Division in January, 1998.
Passed Intermediate Examination from Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education - Lahore, in February 1995. Secured 510/ 1100 marks with D Grade in February, 1995.
Passed Metric Examination from Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education - Lahore, in July 1992. Secured 621 marks with A Grade. In July, 1992.
