▪ Performs a variety of engineering tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline.
▪ Report to MEP Manager as applicable and participate in the construction supervision of all electrical items including elector-mechanical works, the electrical cables (EHV, HV, MV, LV), electrical substations, street lightings and low current system of the project and ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications.
▪ Control /manage the Electrical Inspectors by giving guidance for the work supervision activities and maintain quality and safety to meet client satisfaction.
▪ Coordinate his direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
▪ Monitor, measure and record Contractor’s progress on electrical and electro-mechanical work and provide feedback to the Resident Engineer allowing him to assess the actual construction progress against the approved construction schedule.
▪ Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) if required by the Client; and witness all relevant acceptance tests required by the Contract / Specifications.
▪ Plan for and coordinate with the subcontractor on the necessary pre-commissioning, commissioning and post-commissioning activities. Ensure that all associated documentation / records are complete and accurate (i.e. as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals).
▪ Coordinate with the Contractor and client O&M on the trainings required by the Contract prior to hand-over and close-out.
▪ Checking Electrical loads, design, shop drawings, material approval, and as built- drawings.
▪ Perform field inspections and provide field support and troubleshooting during the construction process.
▪ Review subcontractor’s submittals and RFIs and provide technical feedback.
▪ Review changes proposed by subcontractor and assess them against approved design.
▪ Develop detailed designs for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and grounding, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
▪ Conduct regular inspections to oversee the installation and construction of electrical and instrumentation systems.
▪ Contribute to the development of project timelines for E&I activities, coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
▪ Oversee contractors and subcontractors involved in E&I installations, ensuring work is carried out according to plans and specifications.
▪ Monitor and manage the E&I project budget, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety or quality.
▪ Ensure that all electrical and instrumentation installations comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
▪ Conduct hazardous area classification analysis for the pipeline facility, ensuring that electrical and instrumentation equipment is suitable for the designated areas.
▪ Incorporate advanced technologies, such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, for effective monitoring and control of the pipeline facility.
▪ Lead and manage a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination.
▪ Develop comprehensive project plans for instrumentation and control systems, outlining timelines, resource requirements, and milestones.
▪ Oversee the design and engineering of instrumentation and control systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
▪ Work closely with other engineering disciplines, architects, and project stakeholders to integrate instrumentation systems seamlessly into overall project plans.
▪ Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress of instrumentation installations, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
