In Contracts & Coordination section of Regional office (north), I am responsible for Contract Management of different Hydropower projects. Duties include processing of IPCs, Contractual submittals evaluations, Variation Orders, Claims, contractual correspondence and Consultancy Service Agreements and their amendments
Management of Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contracts for different Hydropower Projects including Marala, Pakpattan, DEG Outfall, Chianwali and Daral Khawar HPP costing multimillion USD. Experience in pre and post contract award related activities like Bid preparation, negotiations, Evaluation & Award of Sub-Contracts, preparation of IPCs and Variation Orders/Claims, Management of FIDIC EPC Contract Documents, Case preparation and presentation in Dispute Resolution proceedings.
Design Review of Saudi Electricity Company Sub-stations and Transmission Lines (Civil/Structure) part as per SEC standards and specifications. Accord appropriate status to the submission by the Contractors and point out any deficiency/discripencies in design and issue drawings for Construction if design is found as per required standards and specs.
Project Management, Contract management, coordination, Planning of Sub projects under my Supervision. I have to ensure that Contract clauses are implemented in true spirit. I oversee working of Supervision Consultants and ensure quality of works at site.
I conduct meetings with all stakeholders i.e. Contractors, Consultants and Municipal Administration officials in order to streamline the Contractual issues.
Working in head office, I assisted General Manager (Water sector) in managing different projects under implementation. I also gave my input in Business development like proposal making etc. In put in design and implementation monitoring of projects of water resources sector.
I worked as Contract / Office Engineer on Taunsa Barrage Emergency Rehabilitation and Modernization Project. I assisted the Project Manager in Contract Management based on FIDIC contract documents. I assured that Project deliverable are submitted by the Contractor in time and according to specifications. I handled Variation Orders, Claims and disputed resolution procedures among Client, Contractor and Consultants. I also monitored the progress of works using Primavera software, made financial forecast plans, prepare KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), Environment reporting etc. I also prepared many reports like Progress reports, Mid Term Review Report and completion reports as per World Bank requirement.
As Junior Engineer, I was involved in Hydraulic & Structural design of Hydraulic Structures like Barrages, Dams and Canals. I coordinated between design and survey teams in field for robust design and feasibility work. I also supervised a team of expert AutoCAD operators. I was involved in Canal system and Dam design. I also worked with Contract Management team of Consultants for reviewing and updating progress of Taunsa Barrage Project.
I served on a project which was the construction of an underground Hall of almost 500 men capacity with the state of the art decorative work i.e. teak wood paneling, tiled and marble flooring. Performed the construction supervision at the above mentioned project. Duties included the site supervision and maintaining the required standards of construction and help develop the running bill payments.
Worked as Civil Engineer, at AECS, a Civil and Architectural Consultancy firm. Duties included site supervision, costing, and planning of the projects i.e. multistory buildings of the residential and commercial nature.
I graduated in Civil Engineering in year 2000 with First division.
