CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER Nov 2015 to July 2017
Abu Dhabi Company for on-shore petroleum operations (ADCO)
I was working as a Construction Engineer with ADCO (Abu Dhabi Company for On-Shore Petroleum Operations) at the following projects at JD terminal, UAE.
Responsibilities Include:
• Define project scope and cost estimate of small & medium-sized projects, based on Company’s yearly budget.
• Supervised planning, execution, inspection (as per RFIs) & commissioning of various projects, including new and rehabilitated pipelines according to ADCO approved drawings, specifications and other applicable international standards.
• Conducted weekly construction meetings with contractors to review the construction progress, based on BL schedule and related critical planning activities, as excavation or HDD (horizontal directional drilling), hydro-testing, cleaning and pre-commissioning & commissioning activities.
• Ensured that project-related materials are approved, ordered, procured and delivered at site according to the schedule.
• Supervised & coordinated method statements, procedures and Engineering drawings reviews. Also, reviewed & conducted TRA / JHA & PHSER sessions with Contractors, operation & maintenance individuals.
• Ensured that the construction works must follow the approved engineering drawings, ADCO QA/QC and safety standards.
• Ensured that QA/QC records are kept according to the project documentation procedure. It included red-lined mark-up / as-built drawings, test packs, punch-listing, commissioning dossiers & preparation of MRBs.
• Supervised & control all project-related task orders during the project phase, using MAXIMO.
PIPELINE ENGINEER April 2013 to Oct - 2015
Abu Dhabi Company for on-shore petroleum operations (ADCO)
Worked as a Pipeline Engineer with ADCO (Abu Dhabi Company for On-Shore Petroleum Operations) at 48", 400 KM Crude Oil Pipeline, starting from Habshan to Fujairah -Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Worked as a field Mechanical Engineer with M/s ILF Consulting Engineers at USD 4.2 billion ADCOP (Abu Dhabi Crude-Oil Pipeline). The Project has got strategic importance in the Gulf region. The proposed pipeline was approximately 400 KM in length.
Responsibilities Include:
• Managed EPC Contractor (CPECC) to ensure timely & cost-effective completion of the project.
• Resolved all technical issues, including engineering drawings, RLMU & as-built drawings.
• Involved in the site-inspection activities, including in-coming material inspection & preservation, installation of UG/AG Piping, static equipment installation, including fixed-roof Fire-water tanks (each 1.1 MG capacity) & Surge relief tanks (each 1.5 MG capacity). Also, involved in the HVAC and fire-fighting system installations at the station facility, including main control room, substation and administration buildings.
• Reviewed Construction-related procedures, M.Ss, Specifications, hydro-test packages and MRB (manufacturing record book) according to systems /subsystems basis.
• Supervised hydro-testing & pre-commissioning activities, based on Systems / sub-Systems.
I worked as a Manager production / extension projects with M/s Agri auto Industries Limited, Pakistan. I was mainly responsible for achieving the production together with managing extension projects of the Company. Preparation of feasibilities, tenders, and coordination with vendors / suppliers & sub-contractors were the significant parts of my responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:
• Involved in the extension projects, including manufacturing of locks & hinges of the Toyota Corolla, pipe-fork assembly train & installation of additional grinding machines at the production floor.
• Prepared scope and cost estimate of small & medium-sized projects, based on Company’s yearly budget.
• Had several commercial visits to Japan for purchasing the required machines for the extension projects.
• Conducted weekly construction meetings with contractors to review the construction progress, based on BL deliverables.
• Responsible for organizing & achieving the monthly production targets of pipe forks and hinge & locks assembly plants.
• Actively involved in the Kaizen, FMEA, root-cause analysis (using Ishikawa diagram), 5S & Control charting activities in the production environment.
Worked as a Mechanical Engineer with Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Equatorial Guinea, West Africa for Field Piping / Static Equipment installation and Quality Control for AMPO Methanol Project ($ 300 million) under the supervision of AMPCO (Atlantic Methanol Production Company)
Responsibilities include:
• Conducted inspection of utilities piping, small & large-bore, according to ASME Code B31.3 according to submitted RFIs.
• Involved in the inspection of static equipment installation. It includes Reformers, Fin-fan coolers, Methanol column, Desalination plant etc., of the BOP area.
• Supervised the installation of bolted one million Gallon storage tank and fire water tanks, including hydro testing and box-up.
• Worked extensively on Intergraph Smart plant 3D software for streamlining installation process at site.
AT HUBCO-POWER PROJECT & PTA PROJECT
Worked as a Field Mechanical Engineer with M/s Descon Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd, Karachi, Pakistan at 323*4 MW Thermal Power Plant (1995-96) & at PTA (Pure Terephthelic Acid) Plant in coordination with FW (1996-1997 with Foster Wheeler).
Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for in-coming material inspection and preservation to ensure compliance with Station Specifications, POs and MSDS.
• Responsible for UG/AG Piping installation, quality inspection, Hydro-testing / Pneumatic testing and pre-commissioning of station piping and equipment as per international Codes (ASME B31.1 / B31.3) & Standards.
• Prepared test packs, reports, punch-listing and as-built status of drawings as a part of final Dossiers’ preparation.
• Got graduate scholarship throughout the Master’s degree, based on GPA=3.83
