Registering and licensing all vehicles under their management.
Finding ways to cut costs and maximize profits.
Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.
Complying with U.S. Department of Transport laws and regulations.
Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.
Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.

Purchasing vehicles to expand and/or enhance the fleet
Scheduling regular maintenance on all vehicles
Ordering urgent or emergency repairs as needed
Establishing efficient routes and transportation schedules
Coordinating Drivers and on-staff maintenance professionals when setting employee schedules
Managing vehicle licensure and registration
Ensuring all fleet members have proper licensure and up-to-date training
Monitoring Drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and proper driving practices
Searching for, hiring, and training new Drivers
Providing reports to management on budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and fleet progress
Develop methods to decrease cost and improve efficiency

Schedules and assigns shifts and establishes work priorities; develops and implements preventive maintenance programs; manages and analyzes operation and maintenance costs for all City equipment.
Determines requirements for spare parts, supplies, and materials inventory; assists in preparation of specifications for equipment.
Makes budget requests, maintains fleet maintenance budget, and monitors budget expenditures.
Research catalogs, checks prices, orders, and makes direct purchases of equipment, parts, and fuel; makes work assignments, sets the priority for trains and reviews the work of fleet maintenance personnel; conducts performance evaluations; recommends hiring and discipline of subordinate employees.
Establishes standards of performance for each position supervised; conducts staff and safety meetings; instructs assigned staff in work methods; checks and corrects work in progress; reports to supervision problems encountered.
Provides supervision and assistance in repairing and maintaining public transit buses.
Observes and enforces safety regulations; prepares reports on equipment utilization and status of projects; attends meetings and training sessions; approves the purchase of supplies and parts.
Operates City vehicles and performs related work as required.

Oversee activities with regards to the acquisition, repair preventive maintenance, and replacement of fleet to meet the company’s logistics needs
Follow up with finance to ensure updated and adequate vehicle documents
Develop and implement risk management systems for fleet management
Liaise with finance/internal audit to ensure adequate control and monitoring of fuel usage- usage and records
Coordinate the procurement and management of vehicle space
Coordinate all activities in the dispatch of items- requisition, planning, scheduling, and reconciliation with regard to operational requirements
Oversee the timely dispatch of stock/items from the central warehouse/kitchen in line with defined policies
Implement and monitor efficient car-tracking solutions
Oversee all dispatch processing and handover activities ensuring documentation- proof of delivery, stock dispatch notes, goods received notes, etc.
Oversee the conduct of training for drivers
Investigate and resolve all incidences of missing, incomplete/damaged stock/equipment/items during dispatch
Ensure daily reconciliation of stock/equipment dispatch
