Prudent accountants is an accounting and taxation services firm located in Minnesota USA. The firm has an office located in Pakistan (Registered as Prudent Corporate Business) that handles accounting and bookkeeping tasks for their USA clients. I currently work at this Office performing the following tasks:
● Integration and implementation of Quickbooks and Quickbooks online for new bookkeeping clients.
● Preparing the financial statements for clients.
● Training and regular work management of junior accounting staff (8 member team).
● Performing regular quality control audit on the work done by accounting staff before sending financials to clients.
● Assigning projects and directing staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
● Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
● Creating management reports for the USA staff and board of directors.
● Performing bookkeeping tasks on high priority and high difficulty clients.
● Reconciliation and timely filing of all sales tax clients.
•Reconciliation and timely filing of all sales tax (VAT), income tax and withholding tax returns.
•Ensuring the accuracy of input VAT claimed by our suppliers and correcting any discrepancies.
•Keeping up to date with the latest tax laws and communicating relevant changes to the respective departments.
•Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and financial reconciliations of various ledgers.
• Ensuring the accuracy of the profit and loss statement and detecting any discrepancies in the statement and rectifying them.
• Performing various ratio analysis on the financial statements and creating bespoke reports as per senior management requests.
• Dealing with banks for various purposes i.e. making and depositing pay orders, opening new company accounts and claiming on unsettled credit card merchant transactions etc.
• Creating daily weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and reporting the bank position to the board of directors.
• Forecasting future sales to create fund status to allow better fund/liquidity management and easier budgeting.
• Creating the daily bank position and cash position report to allow better fund management on a day to day basis.
• Reconciling the payables and receivables ledgers and finalizing the bank and cash ledgers at month end.
• Creating the daily and weekly payment plan based on the ageing balance and decided credit terms. Processing the cash and cheque payments when due.
• Creating the sale reports for sale bases vendors and franchises for payment purposes.
• Bookkeeping/data entry in system ledgers while supervising the books maintained by branch accountants. At month end passing the closing entries.
• Setting up sales, purchase and nominal Ledgers and keep up to date these ledgers as required using Tally, QuickBooks, Sage 50 and Excel Spread Sheets
• Raising Sales invoices, credit notes, customer’s monthly statements and allocation of sales receipts against customer’s accounts on Tally, QuickBooks, Sage 50 and Excel Spread Sheets
• Processing purchase invoices, supplier’s statements reconciliation, dealing with suppliers invoice queries & purchase orders using Tally, QuickBooks, Sage 50 and Excel Spread Sheets
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly journals, (prepayment, accruals, fixed assets)
• Helping accountants to prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparation of final trial balance to produce final accounts.
