• Functional testing and performance analysis of current and new versions of multi tariff static single phase, three phase whole current and CT operated LT, HT-TOU energy meters.
• Worked on KE (Karachi Electric Company) Smart Grid project. In this project KE Grid station were upgraded as a smart grid. For this purpose DFCI (Digital fault current indicator), DCU (Data collector unit) PLC and HXDT3000 Distribution Terminal Unit was installed in the switching station and power distribution room for distribution lines to real-time acquire analog data, digit data and send the command of digit output and analog output to complete the fault identification, fault diagnosis, fault location and fault restoration for non-fault area. This information is remotely sent to the master station via PLC/Micro wave/GPRS and also receives the control command from the control center to remotely connection/disconnection for circuit breakers. In this way, KE can real-time monitor, fault identification, network reconstruction, power supply restoration to reduce the power outage time as well as improve power supply reliability of distribution network.
• Data retrieval Gadgets designing and manufacturing for data retrieval of faulty and burnt meters.
• Providing Optocomm software training to WAPDA staff for data retrieval and parameterization of three phase energy meters.
• Testing, monitoring and analysis of multi tariff, bidirectional AMR (GSM, GPRS based) energy meters by using web base application software.
• To provide technical assistance in design and development of energy meters by coordinating with Hexing China (KBK joint venture partner).
• Handling all disputes regarding meter field performance and discrepancies in all DISCOs and preparing field performance reports for analysis and further improvement in energy meter products.
• Supervision, installation and commissioning of Smart meters on Grids and distribution transformers for Energy audit and power monitoring projects in FESCO and MEPCO.
• Worked in Research & Development department for design & development of multi tariff Static Single phase, Three Phase Whole current and LT, HT-TOU Poly Phase Electricity Meters.
• Programming and configuring of poly phase energy meters through optical communication software.
• Worked on AMR (automatic meter reading) project based on RF, Zigbee, GSM and GPRS system.
• Technical assistance in development of EMRI software for HHU to collect energy data and field discrepancies of distribution meters and remotely sending the stored data to data base server.
• Schematic, PCB designing and simulation of Electronic circuits.
• Testing, Trouble shooting of SMD based different types of electronic equipment.
