1. Managing imports department in such a way that all work to be done on time.
2. Manage company’s import processes in a cost effective more efficient way.
3. To ensure Company’s compliance to all regulations regarding Imports.
4. Managing contracts with international suppliers ensuring support to company’s cost saving and cost.
5. To avoid contracting or auto renewing of contracts after review of existing stocks.
6. Manage all financial duties i.e. reviewing mode of payments regarding import processes in an effective and responsible way.
7. To maintain effective and professional relationships with external entities.
8. To ensure compliance with company’s policies, procedures and IT standards.
9. To assist management in developing of procurement policies, procedures, processes.
10. Accurate and timely reporting to General Manager.
11. Monitor and assist with the daily running processes in the Import department i.e. monitoring and negotiate freight costs.
12. Manage, control, check or assist with issuing of all Import documents.
13. Schedule the ordering of those products responsible for and to meet the requirements generated by the sales departments by means of the sales forecast.
14. Continuous correspondence with suppliers and to enquire of rates.
15. Manage all import documentation and activities of all transportation firms or shipping companies.
16. To follow Import Security Filings, customs brokers, container manifests, closing shipment files and cargo freight negotiations. Ensure proper freight rates are being calculated and added to final cost of goods.
17. To locate suppliers from around the world for cost effective products according to the requirements of company.
18. To make appropriate orders based on history and sales forecast & negotiating while contracting.
19. Continually work with current vendors as well as potential new suppliers to help reduce costs while maintaining the highest level of quality and service.
20. Work with the operations staff to efficiently schedule the receipt of purchase orders in order to meet the production and sales requirements
21. To maintain approved inventory levels and stock analyzing.
22. To check individually prices of products to avoid extra costing.
23. To check and compare commercial invoices with contracts after receiving shipments.
24. Manage the inbound/outbound containers while limiting any demurrage and storage fees.
25. To get best cargo rates from shipping companies i.e. UASC, Hyundai Merchant Marine, APL, Saudi Maritime Company, Mediterranean Shipping company and to track shipments to avoid any demurrage.
