Responsibilities

 Looking after the HSE department and managing a site of more than 1000 workers.
 Facilitate in carrying out Chlorine Gas (Cl2) consequence analysis and fire risk assessment (FRA) at site.
 Liaise with site management to facilitate the process hazard analysis (PHA) of caustic soda (NaOH), Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) and Chlorine Gas (Cl2) gas and monitor compliance towards preventive maintenance plan to ensure plant integrity.
 Perform the task-based risk assessment and develop actions how to mitigate them, and determining the related environmental impacts.
 Interface with Shift In charges or Shift Engineer to understand the type of activities that will take place on a daily basis.
 Participate in multiple 1st & 2nd party PSM audits within the organization.
 Carry out route cause analysis (RCA) during investigations using fault tree analysis (FTA).
 Improve emergency response procedures (ERP) at site and provide trainings to enhance awareness among emergency squad and employees.  Supervise the regular inspection of fire fighting, safety, and emergency response equipment.
 Investigate all the accidents and near misses, preparing reports of findings including recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and implement approved course of action.
 Conduct or coordinate workers training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, use of safety equipment and PPEs and maintain training documents.
 Oversee the installation of safety devices, by following set instructions and protocols.
 Conduct inspections and internal audits throughout the entire manufacturing facility to identify existing or potential hazards and determine corrective or preventive measures.
 Prepare annual HSE budget.
 Respond to emergency situations such as fires and perform CPR and First Aid.

 Reduced overall accident rate by 50% through implementation of effective strategies including safety labelling, employee coaching and implementation of PPE.
 Installed computerized safety programs including electronic alarm systems leading to a 60% annual reduction in workplace accidents.
