Quality Assurance Engineer
• Preparation of Project Quality Plan, Inspection & test Plan, quality control procedures in coordination with QA/QC Manager. Expediting review and approval of these documents from company.
• Ensuring availability and implementation of above mentioned approved documents at site.
• Adequately submission of “Inspection Test Requests” and liaising with Company regarding execution of scheduled inspections.
• Ensuring that all inspections and tests are carried out as indicated on the appropriate Inspection & Test Plan (ITP). Ensuring results of inspections and filing of these documents in a safe and secure manner.
• Coordinating with site and independent testing agencies, third party inspectors & project construction in conducting tests. After that, Review of these test reports and submission to company for approval.
• Initiating actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformance and issuing non-conformance reports (NCR’s) when activities deviate from contract specification and applicable industrial codes & standards.
• Performing root cause analysis, review of corrective actions recommended in the non-conformance reports and verification of corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Maintaining the log of NCR’s and ensuring that NCR’s are resolved by the target date.
• Participating in audits during all phases of project. Also, Implementing audit program for subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with the requirements of EPC contract and approved quality plan.
• Supervising quality inspectors for effective control of project activities and assigning work related to inspections.
• Review and approval of ITP’s, procedures, weld books (WPS & PQR) and WPQR submitted by subcontractors.
• Promoting quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success of the project.
• Assisting QA/QC Manager for reporting and updating of activities status (piping test packages, solo run, loop checks, walk downs, punch items, inspection test records etc.) regarding each system and subsystems to achieve the Mechanical Completion.
• Assisting in preparation of Mechanical Completion dossiers and maintaining the mechanical completion dossiers and certification logs.
• Coordinating with commissioning team to ensure the completion of functional tests and preparation of commissioning dossiers to achieve “Ready for Test run Certificate” and PAC.
• Preparation of ITP, Project Quality plan, Quality Control Procedures and its approval from client.
• Preparation of WPS, PQR and WPQR for HTCS, Low Temperature carbon steel and incoloy 825 material.
• Witness of Welding Procedure qualification test coupons for Carbon steel and incoloy material in presence of GASCO nominated Third Party Inspector at shop facilities and GASCO itself at Habshan site.
• Submission and approval of WPS, PQR and Welder performance qualification from TPI and Client (GASCO)
• Approval of Tie-In Packages (ITP, WPS, PQR, WPQR and NDT, Material Test Certificates) from Client prior to start of Tie-in activity.
• Inspection of activities of Acid Gas Knock out drum at subcontractor’s (Sigma Engineering Works) fabrication yard and offering stage and final inspections to client / TPI as per approved inspection and test plan.
• Performing weld visual, stage and final inspection of carbon steel and incoloy piping at Habshan site as well as subcontractor’s fabrication yard.
• Witness of Non Destructive testing and Destructive testing along with TPI and GASCO. Ensuring that all welding and NDT inspection activities are completed and relevant documents are reviewed by Client prior to hydro testing.
• Co-ordination with Operations and Safety prior to start of welding for tie-ins to make sure that all safety requirements are met and there is no hazard to existing facilities as well as personnel working at site.
• Interpretation of radiographs, review of RT reports and its approval from client.
• Review of Final Welds PWHT chart / reports and making sure PWHT requirements in sour environments in line with project specification and applicable codes.
• Preparation and review of piping test packs before offering to client for final review
• Witness of pressure testing for AGKOD and piping. Signing off relevant test reports from TPI and client.
• Monitoring and final weld visual of associated steel structure i.e. supports, platforms and ladders.
• Liaising with NDT subcontractor for timely availability of resources, completion of assigned work and NDT reports review.
• Co-ordination for painting inspection of piping spools at subcontractor’s (FAMECO) yard and offering final inspections to TPI.
• Review and approval of Subcontractor’s submitted Manufacturing Data Record Book as well as preparation and submission of final hand over packages to client
• Preparation of WPS & PQR and monitoring of welder qualifications and testing.
• Preparation of welding book for pressure vessel, tanks, steel structures, piping and piping skid packages.
• Preparing and managing the Welder Qualification Register and ensuring that welders are qualified and their certificates are maintained.
• Conducting final weld Visual inspection offered by production / construction.
• Preparation of procedures for storage and handling of welding consumables and conducting audit at store and site to ensue correct handling and environmental conditions control for welding consumables.
• Preparation and maintaining the log for welding equipments and inspection measuring tools calibration and revalidations.
• Witness of destructive testing (Tensile test, Bend test, Impact test and Macro examination) and non-destructive testing (VT, RT, MT, DPT etc.). Ensuring that test reports and radiographs are reviewed.
• Calculation of weld repair rate.
• Train and educate welders to improve their performance and skills.
