Development, maintenance & monitoring of Project Schedules as well as Cost controls for Engineering & Procurement projects in home office AlKhobar, covering Feasibility Studies, FEED, Detail Engineering & Design, Procurement & EPCM support.
Integrate inter-discipline schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences. Work with the performing disciplines and units to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan.
To determine critical-path activities for different disciplines and identify critical path for project schedule.
To prepare milestones for the total project or major portions of the project. Review project work activities to ensure support of project milestones. Coordinate the timely, systematic, and complete acquisition of scope definition and related data.
Provide support to +/-10% Cost estimates and prepare EPC High Level schedules during FEEd and DED.
Prepare, get internal and client approvals, maintain & report progress, staffing and productivity curves throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Prepare & report comprehensive Project Status report (PSR) and Project Margin Analysis Report (PMAR), providing project profitability with revenue and cost forecasts based on actual bookings in SAP and cost forecast as per staffing plans.
Develop and write the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly/weekly progress & schedule analysis reports. Report activities with critical/potential impact and prepare Schedule Impact Report.
Maintain Project change long and workout project change management i.e., Project Change Notices Order of Magnitude Estimates and negotiations.
• Prepare Plans & establish schedules maintaining the critical paths using Oracle Primavera P6 & MS Project. Flagging issues and concerns with proactive mitigation and efficient resource optimization.
• Manage Cost against the baseline budget using SAP applications.

Project Description: Borouge 3 is a continuation of Borouge 1 & 2 producing Ethylene and subsequently multiple types of Plastics including LDPE, XLPE and Poly Olefins. Borouge 3 has production capacity of 2.2 million tons of Plastics per year. Bechtel is assigned Project Management with Borouge team. Project has its own Port facility as well.
U&O package includes Sea Water Intake, Closed circuit Cooling Water, UG and AG utilities piping, Effluent and Waste Water Treatment Plants, Hydrocarbons Storage, 190 Meter Demountable Flare, Power Distribution, Communications Network, Central Controls Building and Roads Network.
My Responsibilities include:
o Working as part of Integrated Project Management Team and supervising the Project controls of EPC contractor Hyundai.
o Pre-Commissioning, start up and commissioning planning and scheduling.
o Progress Assessment and payment Invoice analysis
o Assisting the PMT directors with the Project controls related matters
Project Description: Ras Al Khair Aluminum Smelter is world’s largest Aluminum Smelter with an approximate 750, 000 Tons per year production. Smelter Facilities included Potlines, Gas Treatment Centers, Anode Baking furnaces, Fume Treatment Facility, 230 KV process power and Integrated Cast house with associated port facilities.
My responsibilities at RAK included:
o Major Milestones schedule preparation for each of the sub contract packages referring to Master Level 3 Schedule.
o Technical evaluation of bids submitted considering manpower, equipment, execution plans and Level 3 schedules
o Baseline reviews and approval
o Periodic review of contractor’s level 3 schedules & 3 weeks look ahead schedules
o Catch-up/Recovery Schedules
o Bechtel & Client Senior management reporting & Weekly Presentations.
o Claim Analysis and reviews
o Budget Preparation and control up to the Cost accounts level.
o Baseline quantities and estimate coordination
o Job hours data input against the forecasted quantities and its analysis
o Raising Trends and variation requests
o Funds allocation and confirmation for the site material requests, FSRs and various site design modifications using ePCWorks, eSub

• My job included centralized project control activities of Scheduling and Cost analysis for all Descon Qatar jobs. It covers typical EPC, Plant construction and Shut down jobs in a range of 50 to 100 Million USD.
• Initiation & Planning of all new projects awarded to Descon Qatar is one of my core responsibilities. It covers Kick-off Meetings, developing the Scope, WBS, estimation of resources, schedules, and all management plans.
• During Execution I assist the Project team in preparation of rolling wave plans in line with the project baseline schedules
• Monitoring & Controls includes analysis of project performance reports in terms of progress and cost on weekly basis and to raise flags for variations and to participate in corrective actions implementation.
• One of the major functions is to close the projects formally and informally. I assist the project team for the close out reports.

• Work Packages definition, compilation, issuance and allocation to the concerned site supervisors with Level IV schedules & resource loading.
• Implementation of the Mechanical Completion plan for the FTP - 1 area handover.
• Developed and controlled project management plans and detailed schedule through weekly update frequencies.
• Implemented CPMS (Cumulative Progress Monitoring System) for Technip-France.
• Assured the work fronts availability, drawings & materials availability with efficient use of manpower & resources along with follow-ups for delays due to Client etc.
