I am responsible for prototype tools evaluation and maintain its run history until its commercialised. My job is to identify and eliminate any non-conformities and identify root cause and implement necessary corrective actions using SCAT (Schematic cause analysis technique) for any failure that may occur during field trials.
•My current role involves the development and implementation of new technology for oilfield services. Working as a Technical Expert I provide products and solutions to address operating company challenges and needs for Well Abandonment, Fishing, Wellbore Departure and Drilling tools which includes; shock/ impact tools and underreaming products.
•I assist with prototype applications and new product market introductions. This includes defining product requirements and communicating these to the global HQ organization in Houston, Texas. I am involved in field test planning and execution to ensure successful completion of test plan requirements.
•I provides technical support to the field sales organization and to clients. This includes sales presentations and drafting technical proposals and procedures.
•I lead tool failure investigations and the remedial work action plan
•I analyse, benchmark and evaluate the drilling tools performance and initiate new/ modification and design requests. This includes participation in internal design reviews from concept through prototyping.
•I lead projects from concept stage to design and through field testing. This has included responsibility for creating the product Operation & Maintenance Manuals which are supported by Risk Assessments for the product life cycle.
•Quality, cost effective and efficient support to the field. Keep track of budget, schedule (MS Project) for timely completion of the project. Supervise and co-ordinate with 3rd party sub-contractors to ensure timely deliverables in accordance with Project Schedule and budget. Providing technical input to support tenders and Business development team.
•Work as a Bridge between Engineering and Operations to help developing new tools & technologies. Develops and implements Pre-Job and Post-Job workflows to insure that the level of service provided to our clients is consistent.
•Perform internal and external marketing activities such as technology presentations, lunch and learns, workshops, and technology launches. Create Technical Papers, Case Studies and capture Lessons Learned into InTouch based on the experience from the GeoMarket or location.
•Assists with field based Applications Analysis (modeling & simulation) to enable Operations to effectively improve our Products and Services with a differentiable advantage.
•Active in Technical Society through publishing of technical papers, participating in SLB Drilling Symposium, participating in Industry events and leading local professional technical societies.
•Review competency development of Product Engineering group while mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers at location.
I was initially hired to work as a Project Engineer to develop and manage new technologies for Drilling, Well Abandonment & Remedial tools. This was due to my previous Design Engineering and Project Management background.
•I lead few projects from concept stage to design and through Field testing. Some of the projects include design of new whipstocks technology for well bore departure, well abandonment tool for wellhead recovery and surface casing conductor removal project.
•I managed various 3rd party contractors, supervised and co-ordinated with sub-contractors to ensure timely deliverables in accordance with Project Schedule and budget. This was all achieved by maintaining a MS Project for timely completion of the project.
•In order to manage the tools being deployed in the European Union I personally conducted and led the FMECA (failure mode, effects and criticality analysis) and compliance assessments to ensure the equipment met the EU directives and codes. This included the development of the operating procedures and the design of the standard bottom-hole-assembly (BHA) drawing.
•Carried out Factory Acceptance & Load Tests and performed Risk Assessments. Responsible for preparing and proof reading Operation & Maintenance Manuals. Prepared training manuals and give job instructions for workshop and offshore operators before going on a job
•Provided technical support and wrote technical sections on tenders to support our Business development team
Assists the bid team integrate good project management practices into the bid document (preliminary project plan). Monitor the schedule against all project activities during the life of the project including the construction / installation phase. Tracks costs and links cost tracking system to accounting system.
Supports the tracking of service orders and purchase orders to ensure the process is followed and costs are captured.
Implements Schlumberger QHSE requirements. Ensured proper reporting of project incidents. Follows up with team members to ensure proper closure of actions.
I worked as a Design Engineer in Hydraulic workover/ Snubbing Technology group and Coil Tubing equipment. I provided technical assistance on heavy duty modular, portable oilfield structural and mechanical equipment and hydraulic control systems.
•I designing tools as per British Standards DNV/ API 8C and to comply with European market (CE marked). Use of structural design standards, design of equipment to work on live Oil wells.
•I prepared 3D Models and produce manufacturing drawings in Solidworks. Using COSMOS for stress analysis to analyze design and structural hand calculations.
•I provided assistance in the workshop for the preparation and testing of equipment. This included load testing, hydraulic system diagnostics and trial assemblies/factory acceptance test procedures.
•I assisted in providing application expertise and any special technical data to Business Development, Application Engineering, Training, External Customers and Operations to support product and service applications globally.
•Worked on a modern drilling rig, while its performing drilling operations onshore. Dealt with many challenges from rig system to wellbore and drilling challenges.
•Follow up and development of new concepts, systems that will improve QHSE and performance of Operations. Reviews operational performance expectations or specifications.
•Manage 3rd party and sub-contractors to ensure timely delivery of manufactured items.
•Incorporates Reliability, HSE, and Quality standards into job activities. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
Assistance in all engineering/ decommissioning, operation and workshop activities: Includes dealing with technical documentation relevant to the preparation, execution and closure of projects both onshore and offshore such as Method Statements, FAT reports, Compression and wet trial reports.
•Responsible for engineering design activities: Using Solidworks to design Diamond Wire Cutting Machines and Deployment Frames. Responsible for ensuring that all the Frames and other lifting equipments are designed on the basis of British Standards.
•Design and Preparation of bespoke machines for different projects. Preparation of technical documents for the bespoke machine and operation manuals. Assisting technicians with new builds bespoke machines and also liaising with other departments to ensure that parts are build as per the design.
•3D Modelling and producing manufacturing drawings in Solidworks. Using COSMOS on Solidworks for stress analysis to analyze design and hand calculations.
•Having a leading role in contributing to solutions on a wide variety of challenging projects, from the initial concept and analytical stages through to prototype delivery and manufacturing.
•Assistance in the workshop for the preparation and test of all the equipments involved in projects: Hydraulic Power Unit (UPU), Spooler c/w Umbilical, Control panel and Diamond Wire Cutting Machines. Responsible for ensuring that equipment is serviced and maintained to an acceptable standard as defined by the quality management system.
•Assist with the set-up, organisation and running of projects. Supporting them properly so that they operate safely and smoothly in accordance with company procedures and processes.
•Assist Operations and Marketing to prepare bids, quotes and proposals for projects. Also prepare Post Project Reports to assist Account Department for the preparation of Invoices.

•Working on Autodesk Inventor 2009 for all design and modeling work. Producing fabrication and GA drawings. Using British standard codes for all the designs of offshore structures, frames etc.
•Modelling of parts and assemblies and producing detailed drawings in Autodesk Inventor.

•Looking over the project from design to manufacturing phase. And continuous interaction with the fabricators. Also continuous interaction with the clients and getting updates according to their requirements.

Responsible for the design and fabrication of reaction vessels and heat exchangers for the Chemical Plant.
Responsible for the design for the piping of water, oil and other chemical lines: Includes selection of pipe's material, pumps and valves according to the requirement of the processes.
Preparation of Fabrication drawings for Reaction vessels and heat exchangers on AutoCAD. Drawings of all isometric views of piping and installation plans on AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
Planning and supervision of piping on site. Installation of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, reaction vessels, etc. To make sure safety of workers, safety of equipments, etc and to carry out safety measurements all the time.
Coordination with civil and electrical engineers regarding various activities like concrete basements for pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, installation of electrical panels in different areas of plant.
Dealing with contractors also generating various reports regarding project planning, status & performance. Daily reporting to higher management about progress and any related issues.
