• Administration for Oracle 10g Databases on Windows 2003, SuSe Linux 11 and AIX 5.0 Platform.
• Involved in the physical and logical design of a database, as well as configuring security and access permissions.
• Planning to configuring and maintaining of Standby database.
• Continuous monitoring of all Databases, sizing, tuning and SQL tuning.
• Maintain prod & test instances
• Purge logs & trace files regularly
• Apply patches
• Create shell scripts for task automation
• Implement load balancing and fail over capabilities
• Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirement
• Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
• Monitor systems and platforms for availability
• Install upgrades and patches for DB and IAS
• Provide best approach to consolidate for oracle license (recommendation for standard and enterprise)
• Evaluate and recommend new database technologies
• Onsite with 24*7 Coverage for Severity One issues
• Performance Tuning of database parameters after review of software configuration and Recommendations for infrastructure enhancement
• Looking after BASIS administration of SAP (ERP)
• Manage backup and recovery, responsible for database availability, reliability and performance and work with other programmers who are writing software to access the database, etc. Replication of Database objects through SNAPSHOTS
• Installing, creating and migrating Major databases.
• establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security
• monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to front-end users
• considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
• further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements
• installing and testing new versions of the DBMS
