Project (Riyadh Metro )
As Transportation Engineer on this project. Our scope of this work included the detailed evaluation of the expected traffic impact due to the construction of the Riyadh Metro Project within Riyadh. With six lines at a total length of 176 km and 85 metro stations, the metro network will cover most of the areas in Riyadh. Our scope of work only on for Lines 1 and 2. Line 1 will run north to south across Riyadh from Olaya to Batha Corridor and Line 2 will run east to west along King Abdullah Road. Line 1 will cover 38km (24miles) and include 22 stations and four transfer stations where it will connect with other new metro lines. Much of Line 1 will be underground. In contrast, Line 2 will be built mostly on a raised strip in the median of the planned freeway. This line will run east to west and will extend over 25km (15.7 mi) with 13 stations and three transfer stations.
Duties:
•Responsible for preparing the temporary traffic detour plans and construction activities at they apply to work adjacent to live traffic flows.
•Analyzing and interpreting data gathered from transport studies.
•Resolving technical issues on work zones and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
•Work closely with stakeholders (MOT, MOI, Municipality and Traffic Police Department office in getting formal approvals.
•Respond to letters and investigate and report on public matters including and complaints related to metro detours.
•Attend weekly meeting with the site team, the consultant and client to inform and monitor progress concerning the project scheduled completion date.
•Ensure delivery of daily/weekly/and monthly site assessment, inspection and issues the (NON-COMPLIANCE REPORTS).
• Simulating transport problems using computer models and working out solutions.
•Analyzing and interpreting data gathered from transport studies.
•Looking at schemes to manage traffic.
•Studying accident 'black spots' to design road safety improvements.
•Site visit to see design implementation as per approved plan.
