The Al Taweelah complex is operated by three different companies and produces 4, 355 MW of Electricity and 294 MIGD of Water for the residents of Abu Dhabi. The Shared Facilities Company (SFCo) carries out the operation and maintenance of all the facilities, buildings and land not owned by any of the three production companies. This include the Fire & Rescue, Medical and Security Services.

As a Firefighting, my role is to respond to emergency calls of any nature, effectively performing duties involving the protection of life and property from fire and other emergencies, while assigned to a Fire engine; maintain station, equipment and fire engine, inspect, test, conduct training during shifts, maintain reports and carry out other duties as directed by supervisors.

Core Responsibilities:
•Responding immediately and safely to emergency calls and all requests for assistance.
•Attending emergency incidents including fires, road traffic accidents, floods, bomb incidents, air crashes, high angle and water rescue.
•Respond to hazardous materials incidents, oil spills, toxic gas releases or other chemical spillages incidents.
•Responding quickly to unforeseen circumstances as they arise, to fire alarms and operating fire indicator panels.
•Rescuing trapped people and animals in a quick and safe manner.
•Minimizing distress and suffering, including giving first aid before ambulance crews arrive; safeguarding their own and other people's personal safety at all times.
•Shut down natural gas and electrical services to structures when instructed.
•Cleaning up and checking the site safety after dealing with an incident.
•Develop knowledge on locations of various buildings and facilities to which you may respond.
•Assisting in the testing of fire hydrants and checking emergency water supplies.
•Undertaking drills, physical training and taking part in training on techniques, use of equipment and related matters.
•Driving fire vehicles in a safe manner to any locations inside or outside the plant as directed by Officer in Charge if licensed to do so.
•Maintaining fire vehicles for operational readiness at all times in accordance with routine periodic maintenance and checks.
•Possess the necessary knowledge and skills to be a pump operator when required.
•Maintenance and inspection of breathing apparatus and emergency escape sets throughout the plant.
•Recharging of breathing apparatus sets cylinders.
•Hose binding and maintenance.
•Maintain Fire Engines, tools and emergency equipment sparkling clean and ready for use at any time.
•Maintain Fire Station, Firefighter’s quarters, in and about the Fire Station in a clean and orderly condition; perform minor building maintenance.
•Assist in controlling traffic when required; documenting and reporting any aspect of noncompliance to the Crew Commander and assisting in coordinating preventative action as required.
•Assist in bee removal, environmental and animal preservation activities.
•Carry out and assist in documenting of all equipment Acceptance tests, Standard tests, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi Annually and Annual tests.
•Conduct hot works, confined space pre entry gas tests and lifeline inspections.
•Participate in building Fire Safety Inspections and Evacuation Drills; Inspection and commissioning of fire protection systems; Inspection of Gas Skids and Fuel Storage Facilities.
•Maintain effective and timely communication between crew, Crew Commander, Watch Manager, Chief Fire Officer and Fire and Rescue Advisor.
•Take over the roles and responsibilities of Crew Commander whenever required; provide a source of technical expertise and knowledge to plant and colleagues.
•Operate radio, telephone and computer equipment; monitor alarm systems.
•Be punctual maintaining regular and consistent attendance.
•Maintaining the level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of a firefighter.
•Ensure that English language is used and enforced all the time in the fire station
