Leading the mechanical and hydraulics team to produce full design packages related to pumping stations, desalination plants, sewage and waste water treatment plants. Guide the growth and development of the team by reviewing their effectiveness and efficiency and manage the team technical performance and daily activities. I was nominated to be the technical lead of pumping station design and mechanical process for the Middle East region.

Responsibilities:
•Technical leadership and guidance for engineering team to produce full design packages including; drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, pipe stress analysis and surge analysis.
•Carry out computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modeling for pumping stations, lagoons, lakes, reservoirs, inlet works, treatment plants and pipework to analyze water levels, residence time distribution (RTD), velocity profiles, modeling mixing, sedimentation, identify stagnation, dead zones and flow velocities.
•Review of design packages produced by the engineering team to check technically and quality complying with authority and project requirements.
•Responsible for technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems which present new challenges to the team.
•Manage technical delivery of projects, workflow, cost control, co-ordination and follow up between different departments to ensure quality and deadlines are met, determine where improvements could be made to increase efficiency and reduce design hours/fees.
•Responsible for recourse planning, utilization, set up targets and millstone for the team, monitor project budget and work progress.
•Interface with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical solutions on the projects.
•Provide home office support to site supervision and construction projects.
•Participate in coordination and preparation of proposals on the commercial and technical side such as level of effort, deployment programs and methodologies.
•Liaison and coordination with all applicable authorities to obtain approval on design projects.
•Involve in recruitment and hiring of new staff, preparation of job descriptions, interviewing and selecting candidates.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at PARSONS International Ltd (UAE/Abu Dhabi)

I worked on different projects covering UAE, Qatar and Oman from Parsons Abu Dhabi Design Centre. I was delegated by the design manager in some projects to lead the MECIA team. The position involves performing mechanical engineering design, analysis, planning, co-ordination and inspection of mechanical equipment related to water and wastewater treatment plants for municipality / industrial sectors and infrastructure projects. Coordination between different engineering disciplines and provide technical guidance and supervision to engineers in the team to perform allocated tasks efficiently and deliver work on time.

Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the planning and design of pumping stations (Sewage, Potable, Irrigation, Storm and Firefighting), water and wastewater treatment plants, process equipment selection and sizing, chlorination systems, pipelines including pipe stress analysis and valve chamber design, hydraulics and CFD modeling, odor control systems and plumbing, drainage and building ventilation.
•Hydraulic analysis for pressurized pipelines including surge analysis using KYPipe2014 and Pipe-FLO software and open channel flow hydraulic analysis for wastewater treatment plants.
•Carry out pipe stress analysis for design and optimization of piping systems using Bentley AutoPIPE software according to Process Piping Code ASME B31.3 for water / waste water and district cooling projects. To identify the required individual pipe supports configurations and evaluating the forces generated on rotating / static equipment nozzles.
•Involved in the design of air utility/instrument and nitrogen systems and networks used for seawater treatment plant serving oil fields.
•Preparation of contract documents such as Drawings, BOQ, particular and general specifications, datasheets, calculations and design reports. And ensure its compliance and conformity with conditions of contract and client requirements.
•Set up cost estimates and budgetary planning for projects in the proposal stage.
•Provide technical guidance, training and supervision to engineers in the team.
•Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines of the design team to deliver work on time and according to agencies specifications and standards.
• Represent the company in the review process of contractor pre-qualification documents and technical bid evaluation.
•Provide technical home office support to site construction projects including submittal reviews, response to request for information (RFIs), value engineering, attend regular progress meetings, site visits and inspection.

•Prepared design calculations, equipments sizing and bill of material, produce all necessary drawings for submittal: PFD (process flow), P&ID (process and instrumentation), HFD (hydraulic flow), FAB (fabrication) and Piping drawings.
•Review and check all shop drawings and material prior to submittal.
