Leading the mechanical and hydraulics team to produce full design packages related to pumping stations, desalination plants, sewage and waste water treatment plants. Guide the growth and development of the team by reviewing their effectiveness and efficiency and manage the team technical performance and daily activities. I was nominated to be the technical lead of pumping station design and mechanical process for the Middle East region.
Responsibilities:
•Technical leadership and guidance for engineering team to produce full design packages including; drawings, calculations, reports, specifications, pipe stress analysis and surge analysis.
•Carry out computational fluid dynamic (CFD) modeling for pumping stations, lagoons, lakes, reservoirs, inlet works, treatment plants and pipework to analyze water levels, residence time distribution (RTD), velocity profiles, modeling mixing, sedimentation, identify stagnation, dead zones and flow velocities.
•Review of design packages produced by the engineering team to check technically and quality complying with authority and project requirements.
•Responsible for technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems which present new challenges to the team.
•Manage technical delivery of projects, workflow, cost control, co-ordination and follow up between different departments to ensure quality and deadlines are met, determine where improvements could be made to increase efficiency and reduce design hours/fees.
•Responsible for recourse planning, utilization, set up targets and millstone for the team, monitor project budget and work progress.
•Interface with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical solutions on the projects.
•Provide home office support to site supervision and construction projects.
•Participate in coordination and preparation of proposals on the commercial and technical side such as level of effort, deployment programs and methodologies.
•Liaison and coordination with all applicable authorities to obtain approval on design projects.
•Involve in recruitment and hiring of new staff, preparation of job descriptions, interviewing and selecting candidates.
I worked on different projects covering UAE, Qatar and Oman from Parsons Abu Dhabi Design Centre. I was delegated by the design manager in some projects to lead the MECIA team. The position involves performing mechanical engineering design, analysis, planning, co-ordination and inspection of mechanical equipment related to water and wastewater treatment plants for municipality / industrial sectors and infrastructure projects. Coordination between different engineering disciplines and provide technical guidance and supervision to engineers in the team to perform allocated tasks efficiently and deliver work on time.
Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the planning and design of pumping stations (Sewage, Potable, Irrigation, Storm and Firefighting), water and wastewater treatment plants, process equipment selection and sizing, chlorination systems, pipelines including pipe stress analysis and valve chamber design, hydraulics and CFD modeling, odor control systems and plumbing, drainage and building ventilation.
•Hydraulic analysis for pressurized pipelines including surge analysis using KYPipe2014 and Pipe-FLO software and open channel flow hydraulic analysis for wastewater treatment plants.
•Carry out pipe stress analysis for design and optimization of piping systems using Bentley AutoPIPE software according to Process Piping Code ASME B31.3 for water / waste water and district cooling projects. To identify the required individual pipe supports configurations and evaluating the forces generated on rotating / static equipment nozzles.
•Involved in the design of air utility/instrument and nitrogen systems and networks used for seawater treatment plant serving oil fields.
•Preparation of contract documents such as Drawings, BOQ, particular and general specifications, datasheets, calculations and design reports. And ensure its compliance and conformity with conditions of contract and client requirements.
•Set up cost estimates and budgetary planning for projects in the proposal stage.
•Provide technical guidance, training and supervision to engineers in the team.
•Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines of the design team to deliver work on time and according to agencies specifications and standards.
• Represent the company in the review process of contractor pre-qualification documents and technical bid evaluation.
•Provide technical home office support to site construction projects including submittal reviews, response to request for information (RFIs), value engineering, attend regular progress meetings, site visits and inspection.

•Design of pumping stations and mechanical systems related to water / wastewater treatment projects, RO desalination plants and on site utilities, which include general planning, design calculations, system and equipment selection, piping and appurtenances, hydraulic analysis for pipelines and pumping stations, layout, plumbing and ventilation.
•Prepare bill of quantities, mechanical specifications, costing and budgetary planning.
•CFD Modeling (Fluent) to analyze mixing, velocity profiles and flow parameters.
•Set up project work plan to identify tasks, milestone, allocate resources and co-ordinate between different departments to follow up project progress and timeframe.
•Review technical submittals and drawings to verify compliance with the contract technical specifications and schematic design.
•Office support and coordination; assist experts from the UK and USA in conducting studies and engineering work. In addition, handling procurement activities and follow up.

I worked in the design & projects department for water / wastewater treatment and water desalination (RO) projects.
Duties:-
•Prepared design calculations, equipments sizing and bill of material, produce all necessary drawings for submittal: PFD (process flow), P&ID (process and instrumentation), HFD (hydraulic flow), FAB (fabrication) and Piping drawings.
•Review and check all shop drawings and material prior to submittal.
•Handle procurement activities with suppliers and follow up.
•Submit a work plan, to organize and coordinate tasks, define available resources, set budget and timeframe to meet contract deadline.
•Site visits for inspection to ensure that manufacturing and installation work is as per contract specifications and maintenance on plants under the warranty period.
•Keep database updated to store projects details, drawings and suppliers to facilitate any future workload.
Training:- I completed a training program in the Process & Mechanical Engineering of WWTP at Metito headquarters in U.A.E.
• Inspection and maintenance, for the plant Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, prepared inventory, inspection and maintenance check lists for production lines.
• Planned maintenance co-ordination, involved in maintenance projects and installation of new equipments and ensured projects were completed on time according to drawings and specifications.
• Project office design engineering, worked on a number of design projects for continuous line improvement included design modification for damaged parts to extend life service using AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer & Pro/Mechanica CAD Packages.
• Preparation of weekly review sheet, related to line performance and maintenance issues.

Average 66.5%, Upper Second Class EXTRACURRICULAR PROJECTS:- FINAL YEAR PROJECT:- “Energy Monitoring of Heat Treatment Furnaces at Avesta Polarit Ltd.” • Proposed an effective statistical model for energy monitoring and quality control for heat treatment furnaces. • Carried out analysis, research and experiments on a scaled down furnace at Corus Research Centre in Rotherham. • Highlighted areas for future investment and development. • Introduced a new design and recommended refurbishments to existing furnaces to improve the overall furnace efficiency resulting in reduced running costs. RAIN GUTTER CLEANER PROJECT:- Jointly designed an automatic device to clean gutters without the need for ladders. Working as a group of four to put forward a design strategy, propose alternative solutions and evaluate them to produce a final detailed design solution. WINCH DESIGN PROJECT:- Assigned to design a 4X4 Vehicle Winch according to previously set specification. Produced a concept design sketches, calculations, general assembly drawing and perform a cost analysis of the final product. WORKSHOP PROJECT:- Worked in a team to design, manufacture and test a can crusher to aid in recycling soft drinks cans, to be used in public areas.
