Working in Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) department for SAUDI PETROCHEMICAL COMPANY (SADAF) which is the joint Venture between SHELL & SAUDI ARABIAN BASIC INDUSTRY CORPORATION (SABIC)
Responsibilities were:
• Team member for periodic evaluation and implementation of Safety Health & Environmental Management system (SHEMS)
• Involved in periodic assessment of environmental aspects and accordingly classifying into Significant Environmental Aspects (SEA) and fixing the rating of SEA accordingly.
• Responsible for waste management in all the plant units in SADAF.
• Carry out periodic waste management audits which includes ensuring proper identification, labeling and storage and disposal of hazardous materials,
• Responsible for supporting the team lead to frame the Sustainability KPIs.
• Framing the Sustainability reports taking into account the Consumption of waste, water and energy.
• Responsible for monitoring of the Stack monitoring as per the RC schedule by third party.
• Monitoring of Fugitive Emission Monitoring Program as per L-DAR.
• Supporting the Focal point for the quantification of Carbon Foot prints from all the sources of SADAF
• Collect data and prepare reports for discharges and emissions and environmental performance indicators (KPI's) to the authorities (R.C)
• Team member for the water management for whole SADAF.
• Responsible for reviewing of Environmental Information Reports (EIRs) for some of the up coming facilities / expansion projects and tailoring it as per the Regulatory authority's requirements.
• EPC-project reviewing of upcoming facilities-Studying DeNOx, De-Sox and incineration technologies.
• Significant role in the participation of SABIC- SHE Award contest..
• Conduct audits and monitoring at various facilities to cover such issues as air contaminants like dust, CO, NOx and SOx
• Develop and provide training and awareness courses on Environment & Safety
• Monitoring of NOISE at the boundary fence of the SADAF facility and submitting report to RC.
02. Sr. Environmental & Occupational health Engineer (Dec 2008- Feb 2012)
The STATE POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD-INDIA.
The board is a regulatory agency concerned with the implementation and monitoring of air, water & soil quality within municipal and Industrial zones throughout J&K state and India.
My responsibilities were:
• Team leader for periodic evaluation and implementation of Environmental Management system (EMS) of various facilities (cement plant, hospitals etc) on the behalf of PCB- Kashmir.
• Lead the EMS coordinators of the concerned facility while identifying the environmental aspects and Significant Environmental Aspects (SEA) & developing the register accordingly.
• Framing the action plan for SEA's with corrective actions in line with approval from the senior management.
• Lead the Environmental & health Audits in cement facilityand hospitals to covers the issues like NOx, SOx, dust exposure, noise and handling of hospital waste.
• Team leader for conducting Environmental Mitigation for Bitumen plant and Road projects for J&K govt. and generating an exhaustive report.
• Team leader for designing the Noise monitoring program in the Srinagar city during peak and off peak hours in residential and industrial areas.
• Studying various Environmental Information Reports (EIRs) for some of the new projects and accordingly raising the concerns / issues on the behalf of the regulatory authority.
• Conducting the inspection in the new bitumen plants, cement plants and brick kilns and issue EOP accordingly
• Supervising the various health studies like "dust exposure study" at cement and bitumen plants.
• Responsible for Quantification and mitigation of GHG (CO2) projects.
• Checking the conc. Of various pollutants by Air dispersion modeling using SCREEN-3 model.
03. Environmental & Occupational health Engineer (Jan 2004 - Aug2007)
Working in Environmental and Occupational health Hygiene department for SAUDI IRON & STEEL Co. (HADEED) which is One of SAUDI ARABIAN BASIC INDUSTRY CORPORATION (SABIC) affiliates
Responsibilities were:
• Team member for periodic evaluation and implementation of Environmental Management system (EMS)
• Assist EMS coordinators in periodic assessment of environmental aspects and accordingly classifying into Significant Environmental Aspects (SEA) and fixing the rating of SEA accordingly.
• Developing the action plan for the taking corrective action against the SEA's and obtaining required budget and approval from the senior management.
• Carry out periodic waste management audits which includes ensuring proper identification, labeling and storage and disposal of hazardous materials,
• Responsible for Preparation of air emission inventories according to standardized methods.
• Stack monitoring using the portable Analyser IMR 2000 for NOx and SOx and ISO stack Sampler for Particulates PM10 and above.
• Conducting Dispersion modeling of Direct Reduction plants using SCREEN-3 Model.
• Active member for the data collection for Life cycle assessment (LCA project) of International Iron and steel Institute ( IISI)
• Responsible for the quantification of green house gas (CO2) from all the stationary sources of Saudi Iron and steel Co. (HADEED)
• Collect data and prepare reports for discharges and emissions and environmental performance indicators (KPI's) to the authorities (R.C)
• Team leader for development of annual Hadeed Environmental Report.
• Responsible for reviewing of Environmental Information Reports (EIRs) for some of the up coming facilities / expansion projects and tailoring it as per the Regulatory authority's requirements.
• Significant role in the participation of SABIC- SHE Award contest.
• A team member for the evaluation of waste water recycling project having capacity of recycling 9000m3/day .
• Conduct audits and monitoring at various facilities to cover such issues as air contaminants like dust, CO, NOx and SOx
Occupational Hygiene Responsibilities are:
• Responsible for development of overall Hearing Conservation Program which included measurement and recommended engineering and hearing protection measures.
• Develop and provide training and awareness courses on Occupational Hygiene Standards, Hearing Protection, Radiation Hazards, Confined Space and Work Permits.
• Conduct audits and monitoring at various facilities to cover such issues as air contaminants and physical agents like noise, ionizing radiation, and heat stress and recommend measures to ensure employee protection.
• Conducting dust monitoring program in steel plant and direct reduction modules.
• Assist in Conducting internal audits in Clinic and cafeteria areas as part of our IH-program in which includes ensuring the proper handling and disposal of hospital and cafeteria waste and compliance to the EMS & IH procedures.

The Sanitation department (RC) is responsible for providing solid waste collection, disposal facilities and provides the Periodic studies about the solid waste.
Responsibilities in the department were:
• Study of Solid Waste management in Jubail Industrial city which includes per capita generation of MSW and accordingly designing the transportation plan based on the frequency of generation of MSW.
• Preparation of periodic health plan for the workers working in the Sanitary landfill.
• Forecast future Expansion & Design of Landfill based on the amount of generation of MSW.
• Preparation of monthly and annual solid waste reports
• Groundwater and Landfill gas quality monitoring like CH4, CO, H2S etc
• Field studies on Waste characterization/composition
• Data base reporting of landfill disposal (Organic & Inert wastes)
• Preparation of Waste Manifests
• Awareness program on waste recycling and source reduction in the local community
