Job Description:
The IT Manager’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Responsibilities
Acquisition & Deployment
• Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
• Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
• Develop requests for proposal.
• Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
Operational Management
• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
• Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
• Keep current with the latest technologies.
• Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
Knowledge & Experience
• Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
• Extensive application support experience.
• Proven experience in IT infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of project management principles.

Job Description & Skills:
• Assists in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various
• Systems to include servers, desktop PC’s, network equipment and software applications.
• Configures Hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and media is securely stored and /or sent off site as necessary, recycled.
• Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Performs regular file archival and purge as necessary.
• Creates changes and deletes user accounts per request, based on existing IT Department policies/procedures.
• Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted KMC department’s managers.
• Applies operating systems (OS) patches and upgrades on a regular basis, upgrades administrative tools and utilities.
• Configures / adds new services as necessary. Monitors, plans, coordinates the distribution of client/server Software. Acts as Windows Server Updates Services (WSUS) Administrator.
