As an Assistant Category Manager for FMCG-Food Edible Grocery, my role is to manage the assortment and drive profitability for the category in over 28 Supermarkets and Hypermarkets. I work closely with various business departments, evaluate sales performance, and implement strategies to increase profitability and expand the product range across Pakistan markets.

In my position, I identify enrichment opportunities and conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to ensure a comprehensive and competitive assortment. I manage a portfolio of over 50 Edible Grocery Brands, developing in-store strategies to maximize sell-out and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value for money by challenging quality, price, service, MOQ, lead times, and payment terms.

To stay ahead of the competition, I focus on analyzing competitors' product ranges, marketing offers, and pricing using COMSCAN. This enables me to make strategic changes and keep our offerings up-to-date and competitive. I also play a crucial role in managing category performance through the OTIF (On-Time in Full) Report, ensuring 100% inventory availability within lead times to maximize sales.

Collaboration is essential in my role, and I coordinate with store teams and lead purchasers to forecast product demand and ensure proper inventory availability. Additionally, I drive strategic supplier relationship management, conducting a high volume of negotiations with existing suppliers on retail and net pricing, support for advertising campaigns, and planning consumer promotions. Regular meetings and calls with suppliers allow me to review our business and work towards advancing our goals.

By analyzing data, I strategize profit growth opportunities for overall categories and individual suppliers. I focus on expanding our catalog, identifying selection gaps, prioritizing new line queues, and building direct relationships with key suppliers to bring onboard new products and enhance our offerings.

Collaborating across departments such as Inventory Planning, Supplier Operations, Customer Service, and Business Intelligence is a crucial part of my role. By working together, we drive category goals and ensure the overall success of the FMCG-Food Edible Grocery Category.

As an Assistant Category Manager, my responsibilities include assortment management, supplier negotiations, data analysis, and cross-department collaboration. Through my contributions, I strive to optimize profitability, enhance our product range, and deliver exceptional value to our customers in the FMCG-Food Edible Grocery category.
