Working as Quality Control Manager with SNC LAVALIN - KENTZ E&C in ARAMCO WASIT GAS PLANT, Saudi Arabia and having a total of 25+ years’ experience in the field of Construction Quality Inspection (Plant Static/Rotary Equipment, AG/ UG Piping, Welding), Project Start up and Completion on various industries such as Oil & Gas, Power, Petrochemical and Fertilizer Projects and Implementation of Quality Management System within the organization towards Quality Culture & Objectives through various strategical QMS tools.
PROJECT : WASIT GAS PROGRAM
• Review and Preparation of Inspection and Testing Plan (ITP), Procedures, Specifications, Scope of work, Quality Plan and Procedures for pipe fabrication and erection.
• Verification of Engineering Documents such as P&ID, Isometric Drgs and Line list with respect to service line class requirements and relevant codes & Standards prior to fabrication to avoid reworks.
• Assessing Non-conformance (NCR) with Root Cause Analysis and Suggesting prompt Corrective and Preventive Actions to avoid recurrence.
• Conducting QC Daily/Weekly/Monthly meetings related to existing Fabrication/Inspection issues with all QC Inspectors and Report to Project QA/QC Manager.
• Conducting/Coordinating Quality Internal/External Auditing to all the subcontractors in the project in accordance with Project Approved Quality Plan/Quality Assurance Manual and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Preparation of Internal Audit Assessment Report with the Observations/Violations and reporting to management. Follow up for the appropriate corrective/preventive actions.
• Reviewing subcontractor’s Management Review Meeting Reports/ Schedules and reporting to client.
• Assigning Roles & Responsibilities to QC Inspectors with respect to project scope and Area.
• Inspection of incoming new materials and conduct material evaluation to determine acceptability to purchase acceptance standard set by the company.
• Updating departmental quality documents according to the latest revision of applicable standards.
• Ensure subcontractor’s supervisor, inspector & welders for the work requirement as per the work procedures to meet client requirements.
• Expedite various Subcontractors during various stages of Inspection and update the status to Project Engineering Task force like Purchase department/Mechanical Planning Dept.
• Inter Discipline co-ordination with Engineering/Purchase department to update the various stages of production and inspection.
• Ensure approved welding procedures, methods and consumables are used by qualified personnel to ensure all quality requirements of construction and fabrication are met in accordance with Company procedures and international codes of practice.
• Selecting Welders and verify qualifications of Welders for project requirements. Monitor Welder performance and their repair rates in accordance with job quality requirements.
Projects: SASREF, MAADEN & MANIFA.
• Reviewing WPS, PQR & WPQT.
• Review and check the complete piping plan to be installed in able to perform the easiest way of field fabrication and erection.
• Coordination with subcontractors and representing for QC department in meeting with clients.
• Checking the piping materials and line pipe erection as per Codes and process Standard specifications (ASME B31.3, SAMSS and API 1104 and its referenced documents).
• Surveillance inspection of piping assembly, erection and fabrication to conform to the quality procedure and specification.
• Preparing material list as per Isometric Drawing.
• Inspection of piping materials as per isometric drawings and review with P&IDs.
• Visual inspection of Pipeline and preparing
• QC punch list after installation and coordinate with the responsible field engineer or supervisor for its completion.
• Inspection of shop fabrication of piping spools and supports. Fit-up, flush grinding, R.F.pad, etc.,
• Conducting & organizing all required coursework and training for Flawless Startup Initiative Program.
• Preparing test packages as per Component list and line class.
• Inspection and Testing of Under Ground RTR Piping(Manufacturer: FPI & BONDSTRANDS)Installations with Adhesive Bonded Joints, Butt and Wrap Lamination Joints, Bell and Spigot Joints and also Key lock Joints through close monitoring & Stage wise Inspection.
• Inspection of pressure test (Hydro/Pneumatic Test) according to piping class, their test limit and required Test pressure. Also co-ordinates PMI tests.
• Reviewing of hydro test packages / Mechanical completion Package / Inspection Record Books.
• Witnessing of activities like PQR, welder’s qualification Tests, hydro testing, etc…
• Checking and Implementation of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for construction activities
• Inspection of Tanks and static equipment fabrication, erection and testing activities.
• Witnessing the NDT activities such PT, MT & also PWHT during fabrication of piping are being carried out as per the relevant standards.
• Verification and clearing of category ‘A’ and ‘B’ punch prior to Testing and Commissioning.
• Fabrication of various vessels like Continuous Blow Down / Intermediate Blow Down Tanks and its piping for M/S.National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd., (NTPC) Projects.
• Fabrication of Boiler pressure Piping systems such as Main/Auxiliary Steam header lines, High Pressure/Low Pressure Bypass line, HP/LP Heater lines, extraction Steam line, De-Super heating station line, Spray water / Cooling water lines and Turbine gland seal header line for various Thermal Power Projects executed by M/S. BHEL & NTPC under Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR) & ASME.
• Fabrication of Critical Pipe Support components like Pipe clamp assembly, Weld on bracket assembly and rigid strut assembly used for various projects.
• Fabrication of Structural Steel/ Welded beams, columns, Ducts, Gates, Dampers and Tubular Air Pre Heater for various Thermal Power projects.
• Machined Components like Flanges, Stubs, Couplings, Orifice Plate, Flow Nozzle Elements and Threaded items.
• Erection, commissioning and Maintenance of Pipe lines and equipments for Chemical plants such as Glass lined Reactor, Glass Condenser, Centrifuge, Pumps, Chilling unit, Heating units, Cooling Towers and Valves.
• Setting up and preparing the machinery ready for production
• Measuring, weighing, mixing and loading raw materials into the machines and vessels.
• Monitoring meter and instrument readings, making necessary adjustments.
• Taking product samples and recording the test data for quality purposes
• Packing and loading finished products into barrels, tanks or other containers ready for dispatch
• Closing down and cleaning plant and machinery, and carrying out minor maintenance work Reporting problems with the production process or equipment to shift managers and maintenance engineers.
