Manage and maintain Production and non-Production databases and servers (Oracle 11g and 10g, Sybase 15.x and MS SQL Server 2008, 2005), the largest being 2TB. Linux and Win 2008 (both physical and virtual) environments clustered and standalone running on IBM and Cisco UCS hardware.

Carrying out database installations, upgrades, migrations (data SAN and hardware) and patching. Monitoring performance, space and configuration parameters and responding to alerts.

Writing, standardizing and automating DBA tasks using shell scripts. Using DBA management tools such as Oracle Enterprise manager, DBArtisan, Microsoft SQL Enterprise manager.

Ensuring 24x7 availability and performance of all Production databases - including backup and recovery using Veritas Netbackup enterprise solution.

Database maintenance and out of hours support.

Working closely with IT security and Audit teams to ensure security of data.

Working closely with Application support and development teams to ensure quality of releases.

Technical procedure documentation authoring.

Preparing and testing scripts for Disaster Recovery.
