Maintaining/repairing electronics by utilizing knowledge of basic electronics, electrical system safety (lockout, tagout), system layout and ability to inspect equipment (e.g., for corrosion, wear, damage, ground faults), use diagnostic programs within the system, solder and replace faulty components.
Maintaining/repairing hydraulics by utilizing knowledge of basic hydraulics and principles, hydraulic system safety (lockout, tagout), system layout, basic physics and ability to inspect equipment (e.g., corrosion, wear, damage, leaks) and use diagnostic programs (e.g., flow monitors) within the system
Maintaining/repairing mechanics by utilizing knowledge of hydraulic system safety (lockout, tagout), system layout, basic physics and ability to inspect equipment (e.g., corrosion, wear, damage, leaks), use diagnostic programs (e.g., flow monitors) within the system and Use test equipment
Using test equipment by utilizing ability to determine the proper equipment for the test and operate various test and measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscope, megohmeter, TDR, OTDR, multimeter) in a safe manner
Calibrating and aligning equipment by utilizing knowledge of equipment operations and ability to calibrate and align instruments and equipment (e.g., CTD) per manufacturer specifications and procedures.
Maintain good customer relations by communicating verbal and written information clearly, solving problems and demonstrating good customer relations skills.
Coordinating/integrating with ship’s crew by utilizing knowledge of chain of command, ship’s procedures to conduct a briefing/debriefing (e.g., communicate mission and clarify terminology).
Coordinating/integrating with fellow crew members by focus on team goals and getting along with fellow members for extended periods of time and in cramped quarters
Maintaining records by utilizing knowledge of logs (e.g., pilot, maintenance, inventory, finance, video, customer)
Operating cameras (video and still) by utilizing knowledge of and ability to operate cameras and video equipment, different camera types, video distribution systems, lighting and how it affects video images and environmental conditions (e.g., turbidity, sediment)
Operate manipulators (robotic arms) by utilizing knowledge of manipulator specifications and limitations and ability to recognize and avoid obstacles, use manipulators and cameras, manipulate the position of the ROV, demonstrate hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness (3D interpretation of 2D images) and avoid collateral damage.

Responsibilities:
