Leading the design and construction of MP Steam connection from a Steam turbine to a raw
HDPE, PET and PVC plastic manufacturing facility. Major responsibilities are:
• Lead design of TEMA type Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger.
• Develop SoW, datasheet and Material requisitions for the Heat Exchanger and its
ancillaries.
• Review process and mechanical design received from vendor in ASPEN and PV Elite.

Grimsby EfW preliminary design

Worked in MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Control & Automation) team to
provide technical & design support and project management expertise for a broad range of
projects. My key responsibilities were;
Hitachi Zosen Inova (HZI) Incinerator facility | Edinburgh Council
Project management and supervision for Edinburgh Government including monitoring
commissioning and testing activities. I was responsible to ensure that waste to energy
thermal power plant is consistent with all construction standards and as per
programme, QA documentation is accurate and no short-cuts were taken during
commissioning.
• Provided site supervision of construction and QA work packages to ensure field execution at
site meets mechanical completion deadline.
• Produced monthly reports, perform walkdowns before and after construction completion of
systems and taken instructions directly from the client.
• Review programme of construction, monitoring and review of all turnover packages'
documentation from Mechanical Completion, Readiness to Acceptance.
• Monitor material treatment and Boiler island construction progress on site according to project
agreement schedule and construction sub-contract schedule and ensure all contract
requirements are met by EPC Contractor.
Oil Drilling well waste treatment facility for Tullow Oil | Kenya
Developed FEED of the integrated waste management facility (IWMF for processing and thermal
treatment of oil drill cutting waste arising from the central facility. My responsibilities included;
• Review of Conceptual design process layout developed by Original Consultant.
• Optioneering for Drill Cutting waste treatment & recyclates arising post-treatment.
• Drill cutting waste transport system design and feeding design for thermo-mechanical cutting
cleaner (TCC).
• Technical due-diligence of thermal treatment option using Rotary Kiln incineration technology.
• FEED phase Process, Mechanical and Electrical scope of works
• Developed GA of process plant and storage facility within IWM.
Steam Turbine Replacement - Bolton TRF | Greater Manchester
Steam turbine at Bolton TRF was damaged during reverse-power event. During the
insurance claim period, I was responsible for technical supervision of supplier design and
co-ordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines. My responsibilities included;
• Perform field assessments/surveys of steam turbine hall, steam turbine auxiliaries and
electrical asset.
• Review existing turbine specification and supporting client with the tender proposal for
the new Steam turbine.
• Prepare Steam turbine specification complete with lube oil cooling and Gland steam
seal and other auxiliary system.
• Provide report on the overall control system and effectiveness in preventing this
accident.
• Investigate site maintenance adequacy, focusing on protection of the Steam Turbine.
Sulphur and Bio-sludge transport system, SASOL, Secunda | South Africa
Worked as a Client's engineer to review Sulphur handling and fuel piping system to
multi- hearth furnace. Proposed changes to include handling of Sulphur (High Sulphur
Pitch) and heavies A/B. My design responsibilities included;
• Review of conveyor design and feeding lance into the incinerator and proposed
changes to include heavies A/B.
• Review design changes to the incineration plant and retrofit of the Post Combustion
Chambers (PCC).
• Review fundamental principles of incinerator thermal design with sulphur as a fuel.
• Upgrade design and plant's ability to meet new emissions target and overall
performance quality requirements.
• Review the Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, Heat and Mass Balance and process
water requirement prepared by the project developer.

Produce scope of works for the assigned mechanical works package, coordinate
and control design activities and engineering deliverables.
• Review plant layout using Navisworks and Site-wide utility services drawing with
coordination with civil & electrical discipline.
• Lead 3D BIM model and manage a team of Cad technician and vendors to generate
a collaborative and accurate 3D plant model.

vessels and Feedwater Heat exchangers including nozzle layouts and interface
piping connections.

Lead design engineer for a major infrastructure project "commonwealth games Glasgow".
Projected included Athlete's Village, Stadium and other Sports buildings. Vital Energi
Utilities was responsible for all the underground utility infrastructure and Heating and
Cooling plant rooms. The EPC project was delivered on budget within tight deadlines for
the July 2014 Games inauguration. Energy centre was designed to heat and power
Athletes village, Swimming pools and Sports Arena. District heating system was installed
within record time.
Media City - BBC headquarters district cooling
Design engineer for the district cooling of BBC headquarters and heating for wider scheme.
Heat recovered from the CHP units was used in Thermax absorption chillers to generate
cooling for the BBC building.
Zero carbon project - SSE Greenwatt way project
Lead design engineer for the award winning EPC project, where innovative fuel-cells, solar
PV and solar thermal panels were integrated to provide power and heating to bespoke
developed apartment blocks. Also assisted in the commissioning of heating system and
trouble-shooting thermal storage problems.
E-on Steven's croft waste power plant heat substation Interface
Conversion of conventional power plant to biomass co-generation plant. I lead the district
heating pipework design, where VE designed and installed Logstor pipe network and an
interface heat exchanger between the steam turbine and the heat sub-station

EPC / Detailed design & Construction of District Heating & Cooling Projects
Responsible for timely delivery of 'Energy Centres' and District Heating and Cooling networks
including detailed design of interface vendor package deliverables, including design safety
aspects and execution planning of field activities from conceptual design all the way through
to construction and commissioning.

Main gas chamber, Gas cleaning, Wet Scrubber and ESP. Acted as a coordinator in
the design development in Aspen software and then coordinated the fabrication of
various assemblies. Worked through all the phases of design development and off-
