Wide ranging experience, having worked for a leading retailer for 10 years, during which time I had responsibility for:
• Provision of health and safety risk management systems, including the development of policies, procedures and health and safety management system.
• Carrying out proactive risk monitoring in the form of inspections and audits
• Completion of risk assessments, and monitoring of implementation of control measures
• Identification of training needs, development of packages and delivery of training to employees with respect to health and safety
• Provision of reactive safety services, including carrying out accident investigations, to identify any failings and to ensure that lessons were learnt to prevent recurrence, and to assist in the company’s due diligence defence where appropriate
• Liaison with third parties including contractors, pest control companies, union bodies and enforcing authorities
• Provision of reports, including board reports on a quarterly basis
• Providing advice to employees at all levels, including senior management, on all aspects of health and safety, including advice on the company’s safety management system
• EHS coordinator for the company advising 270 store in maintain health and safety standards.
• Member of fire steering group for the company to update fire procedures and produce a new fire safety manual.
• Review, development and implementation of risk management systems, including developing policies and procedures.
• Facility management for 800, 000 square foot flag ship store controlling all aspects from security, cleaning and preventive maintenance with over 1000 employees.
• Member of group facility management team involve in assigning contractors and keep all stores open at all times and help with any emergency maintenance issues.
• Set up safe system of works and preparing and issuing Asbestos, working at height and hot works permits.
• Make planned preventive maintenance schedule for all sites and ensuring effective compliance by the service provider.
• Fully trained on testing of fire systems, sprinkler, CCTV system, Door Access and CCTV Systems
• Management of loading bay, warehouse and logistics and ensuring all deliveries are delivered on time and moved to the shop floor. Deal with all returns, sales related queries and return to manufacturer items and dealing with all over charge and claiming balances.
• Provide cover as a Duty Manager on the shop floor to deal with all customers and retail related issues.
• Fully trained on stock replenishment and retail systems and work closely with other managers to advise on retail related issues.
• In charge of building security and preparing security plan.
• Stock loss control.
• Dealing directly with all security related issues.
• Prepare security plans and procedures and provide training to all management and employees.
• Training of security staff and carrying out work related risk assessments
• Dealing with the shop lifters, in house theft, prosecution and direct interaction with the Greater Manchester Police.
