As the CFO, I managed the successful settlement of claims and counterclaims between the company, the principal customer and EPC contractor; unlocked and distributed dividends to shareholders after being blocked by lenders since 2015; led the successful VAT implementation and compliance process; directed conversion from Saudi GAAP to IFRS as adopted by SOCPA; implemented Transfer Pricing rules and reporting requirements; led and delivered performance improvement and digitalization initiatives across Finance, Procurement, and HR; directed cybersecurity implementation and hardening; improved maintenance scheduling, planning and coordination leading to lower procurement and maintenance costs, and shorter maintenance and shutdown periods that increased productivity and generated higher revenues.
I secured credit facilities in excess of SAR 40Bn to support construction projects and acquisitions; turned around several multi-billion construction projects that were suffering liquidity shortages, delayed payments to vendors and increased financing costs; established internal control systems and procedures including the introduction and development of ERP systems, which provided robust financial management methods that controlled risk and compliance issues effectively; designed the entire cost accounting system for the Holy Quran printing facility; implemented WHT and reporting requirements; spearheaded a crisis management task force to liaise with SAMA and engage lenders and MoF following an EoD and a call on a substantial bond for one of the mega projects; preserved the project through demonstrating operational cure measures, active stakeholders involvement, top management commitment, and available liquidity to the international, regional and local banks.
