Provides in-house consultancy service to member governments, and advice to other Secretariat divisions, on trade-related technical assistance especially in support of effective participation of relatively weaker economies in various regional trade initiatives;
- Works with the Head of Section and other Advisers to provide professional input in developing appropriate projects for delivering technical assistance to member countries;
- Establish strong working relationship with UK and local counterparts; answer their enquiries and help them develop their trade and investment activities in the Jordanian market. Act as the team’s first point of contact for market enquiries.
- Responsible for coordinating credit and financial activities and obtaining payments for import/export operations.
- Acts as an advisor on matters of tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations.
- Ensures that all filings, documents, and regulatory reporting are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and according to trade laws.
- Keeps informed of international events and changes to laws and requirements that may impact operations. May negotiate letters of credit or handle issues with international banks. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
- Manages, develops, and maintains good relationships with the other members of the trade. Participates actively in the designing and organizing of public relations activities.
- Responsible for building and keeping good organization image in the trade. Collects, analyzes, and researches.
- Acts as an advisor on matters of tariffs, markets, and federal and foreign regulations.
- Develops new partnerships with international organizations in the areas of mutual interest to exert greater impact and, explore and secure additional funding to further expand develop the work programme on regional trade between Jordan and Korea.
- Form stronger business networks, collaborate on opportunities and support market expansion. The core function of networking is important to any business seeking foreign expansion and the trade consultant builds the network by using business associations, chamber of commerce strategies and performing data management of networking functions.
- Work closely with the Head of Trade on team’s annual spending and budget management. Deliver required input against deadlines and carry out various administrative tasks including contacts database.
