Advised Korean Government owned EPC Prime Contractor on the design, build and operation of their flagship turnkey nuclear power plant project (the first of its kind in UAE) in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Government.
Advised on the EPC Prime Contract, Construction Contract, Switchyard Amendment, Procurement Contracts, Power Purchase Agreements and Third Party Contracts with Hyundai Heavy Industries and Samsung Joint Venture (HSJV), Toshiba, Doosan Heavy Industries, Alstom Grid SAS, Westinghouse, National Marine Dredging Co (NMDC), TARGET, Korean Hydro Nuclear Power (KHNP) and TRANSCO.
Advised on the Operation Support Service Agreements including transportation, handling, inspection and loading of nuclear fuel on site, delayed substantial completion of unit 1, QA training and oversight, site maintenance, security, commissioning and testing.
Attended to regulatory compliance matters with FANR, (US)NRC ASME Case Codes and IAEA and resolved any queries, responses, information requests, investigations etc to ensure full compliance and best practice.
Routinely resolved arbitrary disputes in relation to liquidated damages for delayed substantial completion of unit 1, defects, delays, prolongation, escalation, costs and risk allocation in respect of price and scope and insurance claims.
Prepared, drafted and provided defense arguments to LCIA arbitration claims brought by subcontractors, including Answer to Request, witness statements, disclosure requests, expert opinions etc.
