Responsibilities include: Carrying out technical work in support of Company projects in the areas of New Product development, Manufacturing Process Development, Reformulation and Quality. Carrying out testing for routine stability trials and support for packaging trials. Provided cover to other Departments such as QC when the need arises. I supported NPD through the concept and development stages of new products this included undertaking experiments to transfer lab scale preps through to large scale batch manufacture.

Responsibilities included: Undertaking research regarding phosphate binders, inorganic metal complexes and organic sorption materials. I was involved in increasing efficacy of the compound, whilst determining effective ways of reducing potential side effects, optimising the synthesis process and using inorganic precipitation methods at lab and pilot scale. I also undertook raw material analysis and optimised processes. Setting up and designing own experiments to provide QC correlation with clinical data, this involved continuous improvement of QC methods and introduction of new lab equipment and methods. Large amounts of IP and patent related work was also one of my main priorities, this involved significant amounts of QC testing to generate data for trend analysis and patent claims.
