• Registered nurse, special and general surgical floor: King Abdullah University Hospital, responsible for delivering primary nursing care for orthopedics, ophthalmic and ENT cases since 21/8/2006 till 21/8/2009. Then in general surgical floor responsible for delivering primary nursing care for urology, neuro-surgery, general surgery, chest surgery since 21/8/2009 till now.
\{King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH) a teaching hospital and considered as specialized and referral hospital with a capacity of 636 bed. Irbid- Jordan.\}

Job title: a full time staff nurse in special and general surgical floor. D/N shift (48 hrs/ week).
Special surgical and general surgical floor each on consists of 32 beds capacity for male adult patients in a ratio 1:8-10 patients.

Acting as a shift leader and charge nurse since 5 years.

Type of cases dealing with:
• The special surgical ward ( orthopedics, ophthalmic and ENT ) case:
1. Patient's pre and post spinal effusion.
2. Fractures of all its types ( fixation, reduction, back slap and ORIF)
3. Patient's pre and post total knee, elbow and hip replacement.
4. Patient's pre and post ophthalmic surgeries (ppv, cataract and retinal detachment).
5. Patient's pre and post septoplasty, rhinoplasty, FESS, and tympanoplasty.
6. And preparing patients for cardiac catheterization, care of them post normal cath.


• General surgeries (piles, EUA, anal fissure, cholesystectomy, appendectomy).
• Neurosurgeries (spinal effusion, cervical effusion, craniotomy, diskectomy, APLD and hydrocephalus).
• Urinary system surgeries (cystoscopy, TURP, TURT, PCNL, radical cystoprostatectomy).


Duties and responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive individualized patient care to assigned patients.
• Identify nursing diagnosis relevant to patient condition and amenable to nursing actions.
• Plan patient care according to identified nursing diagnosis and identified priorities and objectives.
• Implements nursing interventions and strategies to solve patient health problems and promote their health.
• Evaluate patient response to nursing plan of care.
• Revise individualized patient plan of care indicated.
• Educate patients and families as required according to the professional nursing practice.
• Using nursing science and knowledge from other related discipline to improve the quality of patient care.
• Assumes the rule of coordinator of total patient care.
