Dedicated to the home and the needs of three young dependents.
Customer Services division (Order Processing, Parts Operations).
Worked in an IMS/DB2 mainframe environment using COBOL II as the development language, the ISPF/TSO editor, the Xpeditor debugging tool and MVS JCL for submitting batch jobs. Projects included conversion of existing programs from COBOL 74 to COBOL II and retrieving information from DB2 tables in place of the original IMS databases. Other duties included monitoring hourly data collection runs and resolving ensuing abends.
Assigned to work in the information systems’ department of a waste management company. Main responsibility was enhancing their accounting and business system, including generating more comprehensive accounting and customer information reports. Programming was in RM/COBOL 85 under windows in a Novell client server environment.
Operated the technical help desk service in the information systems’ department. Logged, analyzed and ensured the resolution of technical problems. Installed software and hardware and maintained inventory. Assisted customers with file and disk format conversions and virus protection.
Developed, tested and documented a money exchange system, which catered for the buying and selling of foreign currencies and issuing of demand drafts and telex/wire transfers. Developed data entry and report generation interfaces, reconciliation and end of day/month/year modules. Provided on-site system installation, customer training and support. Programming was in DATAFLEX running under UNIX on NCR hardware.
This was a 60 credit hours course which I did part time in the evenings, along side my full time job. I took a total of 22 classes and my grades were as follows: 5 excellents, 11 goods, 6 passes. Transcript is available upon request.
