renewal programs and capital enhancement programs to be included for future planning horizons.

Key responsibilities include review of flood banks to identify future works that feed in to capital
works program. Writing procurement documents for installing telemetry units in pumps stations to
improve pump station data inventory which would enable better flood response. Understanding the
deficiency of existing HEC-RAS models for major rivers and writing RFQs to enable better modelling
predictions.

extreme events and develop program of works to be built into future capital plans, Tagging 1% AEP
and PMF flood affected properties and work closely with the consultant to facilitate adoption of the
1% AEP flood affected properties by the Council, Submit Grant Applications to the NSW Department
of Planning for 1% AEP flood Management Plans and Hydraulic modelling in SWMM to evaluate
options for local drainage issues.

My primary role is working closely with consultants on projects aimed at flood mitigation and
minimising sewer overflows using hydraulic models. I advise the consultants in choosing the
appropriate real rainfall data for analysis, using climate change factors and on pathways to improve
the hydraulic models for better flood prediction.

This role involves supporting planning and delivery teams on capital projects and development team
with resource consent applications.

This role also involves working with consultants in using machine language to model many
realisations of climate change and rainfall runoff parameters to develop a cost-effective solution.

My role is also about continuous coordination with other organisations for better understanding of
groundwater levels, sea level changes and impact of development on wider flood protection
schemes

• Played key role in hydraulic modelling and planning stormwater assets to achieve improved
water quality and reduce impact of flooding from green field developments. Naveen carried out
hydrology and hydraulic assessment of water quality wet ponds and detention basins and provided
valuable inputs to the design team. This task was accomplished using DHIs Mike Urban modelling
software.
• Played key role in implementing WSUD for new developments in Christchurch by working
closely with Sustainable Urban Design Team and architects.
• Provided inputs to junior staff members on hydraulic modelling in all three waters.
• Developed onsite stormwater storage (stormwater attenuation) guidelines for the
Christchurch City Council. These guidelines are widely used to reduce post development runoffs and
keep it equal to pre development runoffs to avoid flooding in the downstream parts of the city.
• Assisted the network team by performing hydraulic assessment of the water and sewer
network. This task involved building scenarios to replicate Maximum Probable Development (MPD)
and perform fire flow and peak flow demand assessment of the existing water network and
understand the effects of increased hydraulic loading in the sewer networks.

• Supervised a team of engineers conducting inflow/infiltration studies for
a 25 km² catchment in Singapore.
• Managed flow-gauging contracts, model build, calibration, and reporting.
• Performed hydraulic assessment of sewer networks in South East
Queensland using H2OMap SWMM.
• Delivered water distribution system assessments for Unitywater,
identifying lower-cost alternatives to listed capital projects (e.g., zoning
changes and cross-connections).

• Supervised a small team of engineers and hydraulic modellers to carry out inflow/infiltration
studies (25 sq kin catchment area) for Singapore Public Utility Board. Managed flow gauging
contracts, performed model build, verification and calibration and reported to the client on the
progress of works.

• Performed culvert design and analysis for Caltrans using CulvertMaster.
• Assessed open channel hydraulics for Singapore PUB as part of the ABC
Waters Programme.
• Worked with bio-engineering firms to implement light-impact stormwater
devices.
• Analysed water distribution networks for Golden State Water Company
using H2OMap.

• Performed open channel analysis of Concrete drains to compare the water depths before
and after re-vegetating the open channels. The study was initiated by Singapore Public Utility Board
(PUB) as part of their Active Beautiful and Clean (ABC) campaign. Naveen also liaised with bio
engineering firms to implement light impact stormwater devices to achieve better water quality
and improve the aesthetics of the open concrete drains.

• Naveen was responsible for obtaining construction stormwater permits from the governing
agencies. This involved educating the contractors on the need for implementing Best Management
Practices (stabilized entry and exit, silt fence along the perimeter, artificial bunds to encourage
sedimentation process) on site during construction works

• Assessed Fire flow requirements for the commercial developments using WAterCAD.
