•Conducted standardized and non-standardized assessments in the areas of motor functions, cognition and perception, sensory integration, hand function, handwriting and activities of daily living.
•Device and develop client specific technical tools related to sensory and physical dysfunctions and utilize appropriate Occupational Therapy Frame of References for optimal outcome.
•Design and execute treatment plans for pediatric, orthopedic and geriatric clients such as CP, Autism, ADHD, Learning disabilities, Nerve injuries, Fracture, Deformities, arthritis, CVAs, and other traumas, and illnesses. Provided Early Intervention Programs coupled with ABA Therapy for children diagnosed with developmental disabilities and manage behaviour difficulties by designing child specific treatment modalities.
•Provided aids and assistive devices and advised on use of equipment such as home modifications, adapted splints/ utensils, wheelchairs and other assistive technologies. Organised workshop and training on Early Interventions, Sensory Integration, ABA, Neurodevelopment treatment, positioning devices, accessibbility standards and required treatment modalities for rehabilitation and other healthcare professionals.
•Design training modules on disability, inclusion and organize training programs as per TNA for rehab professionals on regular basis.Liaison with other departments that have relevance to rehabilitation and early intervention services to develop and publish training manuals along with key messages for early detection and management of Autism, CP and other intellectual disabilities.
•Plan, direct and manage all aspects of the Occupational and Physiotherapy Department, providing coordinated services for pediatric and adult acute care, acute adult inpatient rehabilitation unit, multi-site outpatient, adult rehab services, cognitive day treatment program, and early intervention units.
•Development of appropriate technical tools, approaches and methodologies for the therapeutic interventions for neurological, orthopedic and geriatric conditions. Involve local allied health and rehab professionals in capacity building activities by providing training on Sensory Integration therapy, Aids and appliances, positioning devices and accessibly.
•Build capacities of rehab professionals, allied health staff & Front-line health workers by carrying TNA, developing training modules and conducting periodic training programs on different paediatric, orthopaedic and geriatric conditions (early detection, referral and prevention aspect of disability.)
•Provided technical support to district Health functionaries for establishing physical rehabilitation unit and ensuring sustainable system to monitor and implement rehab interventions at district hospital.
•Lead the development and designing of IEC materials and key messages (brochures, leaflets, education materials etc) on developmental disabilities, maternal-child health, early identification and referral aspect of disability.
•Ensure quality therapeutic services provided to clients and devise appropriate home based programs & Conducted accessibility audits of schools, government buildings and designed context specific positioning and adaptive devices.
•Review and manage the program specific budget and procurement process for purchase of therapy equipments involving financial analysis in coordination with other functional staff
• Upgrade therapy unit with infrastructure development and installation of Occupational and Music Therapy equipments. Developed roaster of integrated therapy plan (Sensory integration, Speech development and Music Therapy) and provide Occupational Therapy services for clients with physical and sensory dysfunction. Develop and implement treatment program to meet the individual needs of the child and build capacities of Special educators, resource teachers and therapists through periodic training programs. Organize group and play therapies and integrate it for improvement in hand functions, socialization, cognitive and motor functions for children with physical and intellectual disabilities. Establish early intervention center and provide services to infant and toddler at risk.
•Served as an Occupational Therapist in Bihar to provide NFI, Therapeutic services, including caregiver training, family counseling, assistive aids and wheelchair training, prescriptions and distribution in vulnerable and remote communities of Bihar through rehabilitation camps and Mobile unit for different disabilities.
•Facilitate psychosocial services for Intellectual disabilities, post traumatic stress disorder, depression and other mental health associated conditions.
•Builds capacity of Community volunteers, therapists and Frontline Health workers through demonstration of therapeutic exercises, postural training, and ADL modifications through rehabilitation camps, trainings and home visits.
•Screening and evaluating the patients (Paediatric, neurological, and mental health) referred for Occupational Therapy.
•Providing Therapeutic management of neurological, pediatric, musculoskeletal and psychiatric conditions like Autism spectrum disorder (Autism and PDD), Locomotors Disabilities, ADHD, LD, Down’s syndrome and geriatric conditions etc.
•Organizing and implementing training programs related to chronic disease management programs for Occupational & Physiotherapists and other allied professionals.
•Screening, evaluating and providing Occupational Therapy to the children with Special needs like CP, Asperger’s Syndrome, Down’s syndrome, Autism, ADHD, Learning disabilities, and Muscular dystrophy referred to Occupational Therapy department. Recommended early intervention therapy to infants and toddlers who are at risk of developmental delay and established “SETU” an early intervention program for Children (Age group 0-5 years) with special needs.
•Provide periodic training to OT, Special educators, schools, and allied health professionals on basics of different Occupational Therapy frame of references for the management of physical and intellectual disabilities and inclusions for children with disability,
•Responsible for organizing Annual Day celebration, parent teacher meetings, and workshops for parents and staff members and development of individual case studies, and the Annual Reports and School magazines
