• Responsible for all transmission backbone 2nd Level daily operations activities, incident management, data configuration and integration using NCE-T.
• Proactive monitoring and management of DEWA InfraX network such as SDH, DWDM, IP, PDH, Ethernet, DCN, Microwave and Fiber Optic.
• Hands on experience with OSN 9800 and OSN1800 configuration and commissioning.
• Perform monthly preventive maintenance for all transmission nodes in the network.
• Support and manage daily tasks in transmission backbone network.
• Support front office team on any incidents and train them to deal with transmission nodes.
• Responsible for all request for change in the transmission network requested by customer or needed to enhance the network performance.
• Perform link and service continuity tests.
• Perform acceptance testing for DWDM equipment and Fiber cable.
• Managing Access Operations (Radio Access Network, Transport network, Power and Logistics), and being accountable for its operations to ensure consistency and continuity in the business.
• Manage and develop the technical RFQs, RFP including vendor selections evaluation and scoring.
• Manage the operation and associated in the planning of Zain Transport Network including (DWDM/Metro/OTN/IP/MPLS and IP) and OFC (ISP & OSP).
• Analyze and dimensioning of needed spare part and follow with supplier the delivery and inbound/outbound process.
• Tender evaluation and negotiation for better outcome and deliverables.
• Develop and deliver related improvement initiatives and associated targeted actions.
• Managing and following up with the team to ensure Network availability, service stability, and high performance & quality of Access Operations.
• Liaising closely with internal customers, and coordinate and communicate their requirements with vendors and suppliers.
• Providing development contingency plans to mitigate risks/issues as Zain Sudan network expands and the business grows.
• Managing the contracts with vendors and third parties, and managing the work/processes between them and Managed Services team.
• Contribute in the effective management, motivation and development of the team resources by liaising closely with the key line management, personnel and other relevant parties within the Access Operations department to ensure problems/ issues are identified and resolve or apparently escalated at an earlier stage.
• Manage the Transport Operation managed service team who is responsible for all the operation in Transmission domain of Zain Sudan network and ensure all SLA's and KPI's are met.
• Support and implement work orders which involve and impact the transport network.
• Follow all processes and procedures, identifying and informing the Access Manager of any improvements required.
• Take ownership of network faults and planned/unplanned service interruptions, managing them through to resolution or escalating where required.
• Ensure all faults and service interruptions are captured in the trouble ticketing systems, providing regular and accurate updates.
• Coordinate with other departments for Network related issues.
• Produce regular report on the current capacity utilization within network ensuring that sufficient demand to meet new connection orders.
• Provide support to all Vendors and assistance to other keys areas of Operations/Business with regards to Transport network related issues.
• Share information and knowledge with other team members to improve technical and operational effectiveness.
• PG member of Africa-1 submarine cable.
• Responsible for production of technical designs and deployment across multiple transport platforms including fiber (OSP/FTTX), microwave, VSAT, IP and Ethernet to fulfill business and project requirements.
• Produce and support the production of high level design, low level design, test plans, planning guidelines and deployment guidelines.
• Accountable for planning the transmission and IP/MPLS transport.
• Design of microwave network, starting from LOS validation, link budget to BH traffic to destination ensuring KPIs & QOS through design tools.
• Calculating the BOQ for all transmission equipment (PDH, SDH and IP).
• Perform capacity planning following network KPIs and forecasts.
• Support the implement and review of End to End Transport performance measures and capacity reports.
• Review all aspects of the planning/design of transmission including interfaces with the RAN or Fixed Network looking for backhaul synergies.
• Managing vendors and subcontractors to facilitate transmission delivery experience of design and deployment of Transport solutions.
• Advise on End to End transmission solution (MSTP, IP, TDM, DWDM and MW).
• Deal with Vendors to formulate High Level Design (HLD) to produce detail BOQ for new projects and approve Low Level Design (LLD).
• Coordination in and out the company for installation projects (2G and 3G) and field maintenance.
• Managing project human recourses (12 teams) team includes 1 Engineer and 4 technicians.
• Other resources Management (cars, Money, and tools).
• Projects planning and preparing for starting jobs (installation and field Maintenance project).
• Constructing the Information Engineering department for documentation procedurals.
• Installation, configuration and testing all Ericsson BTSs.
• Installation, configuration and commissioning all Ericsson PDH Transmission equipment (Mini link E and Mini Link Traffic Node).
• Installation, configuration and commissioning all Ericsson SDH Transmission equipments (DXX and Mini link High Capacity).
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting of Ericsson GSM system.
• Testing GSM feeders and antennas.
