• Establishing standard procedure for safe exercising of Operational control
• Implementation of system and control in coordination with Operations Director
• Managing Operational control and crew by Ensuring that Flight Dispatch performs safe and efficient Operational Control in accordance with a government rules and regulations, company flight operating manuals and corporate policies and procedures.
• Ensuring Short Notice, VVIP and Diplomatic Flights are operated without hurdles.
• Liaise with Maintenance Operations in respect to scheduled maintenance and MEL restrictions and brief the same to PIC.
• Arranging Contracts with Handlers, Hotels for Corporate rates and safe ground handling of flight and crew.
• Strong Knowledge with filing of the EAPIS and CANPASS, and its requirements.
• Using Universal for flight planning and Jeppview for aid.
• Ensuring that flights are safely and efficiently planned, cleared and monitored in accordance with established standards and regulations.
• Updating the Trip planning system (CAMP) with latest updates from operators and their requirements.
• Provide the PIC with a thorough flight crew briefing, covering all significant information including weather, which may affect his/her flight using PPS Flight Operations Software tool.
• Transmitting to Air Traffic Control directly or through an approved handling agent in the country of operation, all ICAO Flight Plan requirements.
• Maintaining and validating airport reference information and liaising with airport services and obtaining curfew breaks from local airport authorities during irregular operations.
• Monitoring crew duty and alerting the respective crew or departments as and when crew duty exceeds the limits.
• Flight watch, Flight tracking and following up on the position reports including ETOPS flights.
• Updating all relevant manuals and publications for safe and efficient functioning of Operations.
• To ensure that all computerized flight plans are provided to the operating crews in time for their briefing and flight preparation
• Apply for Over-flight and Landing clearances, traffic rights, slots, PPR's necessary for operation.
• To monitor Notams for the routes we fly and to take necessary action when airports, airways or airspace closures warrant it.
• To monitor Aircraft Defects/MEL/CDL, ensure that any Performance limitations are applied to the flight
• Arranging necessary ground handling for the aircrafts
• Arranging crew hotel accommodations and transportation for the crew.
• Arranging fuel uplift at stations as required.
• Flight notification to the crew.
• Co-ordination with ground operations for Crew, Ground Handling Requirements.
• Maintain complete record of post flight documents.
