Division Manager - IT Infrastructure (Jan 2007 onwards)

Current Responsibilities:
Primarily accountable for the bank Enterprise Platforms IT infrastructure.
• Manage the implementation of the HP Matrix and cloud computing infrastructure using VMWARE vSphere 5 platform.
• Manage the implementation of Bank enterprise EMC symmetric VMAX 20K SAN storage.
• Manage the implementation of EMC AVAMAR backup solution.
• Participate in Building Bank SOA infrastructure using IBM Tivoli and Web Sphere products.
• Manage the migration from IBM Lotus Domino to MS Exchange 2010 project.
• Manage bank job Automation by implementing BMC Control-M Job Scheduler.
• Manage the Bank core banking application migration from standalone servers to IBM Power 770 machines based on IBM AIX, IBM Power VM, and IBM Power HA.
• Manage MS active directory migration from 2003 to 2008.
• Implement MS SQL 2008 Cluster.
• Managing Service availability of Networks and communications (LAN/WAN), messaging and collaborative services, Internet services, banking applications, voice and video recording services, data storage and backup solutions.
• Supervising the day to day operations of the Data Centre along with the processes and procedures.
• Responsible to Plan, design and manages the implementation of business solutions and infrastructure.
• Monitoring and ensuring the disaster recovery and continuity plan for critical applications and infrastructure components.

I am a Senior Manager Platforms - Technology Division. This division is responsible for the bank IT infrastructure, which includes Networks and communications (LAN/WAN), messaging and collaborative services, Internet services, banking applications, voice and video recording services, data storage and backup solutions, servers virtualization, and data centers management. The following are part of my responsibilities:
• Plan and manage setup and installation of business solutions, network and telecommunication infrastructure .
• Ensure reliability and availability of systems, telecommunication equipment.
• Plan, develop, document and test disaster recovery and continuity plan for critical applications and infrastructure components.
• Plan, develop, backup and recovery plans and restore procedures for all sites
• Plan, design and manages the implementation of business solutions and infrastructure.
• Project management and implementation of the mail and messaging system (Lotus Domino) and domain architecture, with duties that include system design, implementation, upgrades, backup/recovery, security, virus protection, spam protection, system implementation performance monitoring, and problem solving for project execution.
• Manage a core team of engineers, support existing Windows-based systems and network infrastructure and provide highly available and redundant solutions.
• Accountable for planning the infrastructure and managing a Windows environment with printing, filing and networking services, resolving configurations that require an extremely high level of technical ability.
• Engineering the backbone of all network resources; installing CISCO routers, switches and PIX Firewalls after migrating from IBM; developing test plans to integrate TCP/IP, IPX and other connectivity protocols for a sophisticated LAN/WAN .
• Piloting the operation system upgrade of all desktop machinery and supervising the integration of Lotus Domino mail and messaging services throughout the Company.
• Designing and supporting the company internet connectivity and security, including the website and overall online services.
• Developing and implementing data administration policies and models, and applying high security access rules for MS SQL and IBM DB2 databases.
• Establishing policies for the backup and recovery of systems and data, documenting contingency plans to avoid business disruptions in case of emergency failures.
Distinctly managed the maintenance and upgrade of all servers and workstation machinery and their associated software.
• Orchestrated the administration of Novell Netware and Windows underlying systems
• Originated the management of LAN cabling using BNC and Twisted pairs cables and eliminating all networking failures.
• Assembled computer hardware and peripherals ensuring hardware compatibility and resolving troubleshooting discrepancies
• Applied logical thinking to evaluate and repair clients computer problems, responding within brief time limits.
• Supervised the technical department and all aspects of PC assembly
• Assumed the responsibility of providing and installing software, new hardware, upgrading existing hardware, troubleshooting and maintenance.
