Quantity Surveyor
JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE :
Contractors quantity surveyor which is to perform the following :
• To get the project information and description as to draw out requirements needed for final tender submission
• To check the quantity of the project as per the drawing, specifications . and bill of quantity
• To be able to contribute to the cost control of the project through a through study on the project quantity
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
• Quantity take off and preparation of bill of quantities (BQQ) for the in-hand up - coming projects
• Thoroughly study and understand the new tender project, in line with drawings, specification and all other technical matters given in the tender documents
• Floating inquiries, collecting quotations and negotiating with suppliers/sub contractors as enable to get competitive rate for various items in the tender
• Cost calculation for various items and apply expert knowledge of costs and prices of work, labour, materials, and plant required for the project
• Doing procurement work like floating inquiries, collecting quotations & negotiating with suppliers/sub contractors
• Preparing the commercial and technical comparison statement incorporate with the budget
• Site visits as and when required and submit a report to the line manager
• Get the information from the project to know the requirements needed
• Prepare the project summary for project record and for the requirement needed for the tender bond preparation if there is
• Make price enquiry letters as per the items needed in the project
• Coordinate with the subcontractors/suppliers to follow up enquiries
• Prepare the tender documents according to the requirements of subcontractors for the collection
• Cheek the quantities of the project as per the drawings, specifications and bill of quantities
• Make clarification letters as an action for the unclear items in the project and for the irregularities found on tender documents
• Submit the bill of bill of quantities to the line manager for the final pricing of the project
• Assistance in the final preparation of the tender documents to be submitted to the client/consultant in coordination with the line manager before final approval
• Perform site engineer tasks as and when required
• Perform other job related functions as directed by my superior
(KPIs) KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
• Efficiency in thoroughly study, understand, and evaluate the drawings, specifications and other tender documents
• Accuracy in Quantity take-off
• Timely action for sending enquiries, follow-up, negotiation and collecting quotations for the new tender works
• Time of filling and completion of BQQ
• Strong written and verbal communication skill for all tender related and other works
• On time reporting (daily, weekly, monthly)
COMPETENCIES :
• Good communication and familiarity with computer
• Able to work under pressure to demanding time pressures and to meet deadlines
• Excellent time management and prioritization
• Proficiency in using computer software like easy tender software, AutoCAD, plans wift takeoff and estimating software
• Familiar with tender related work
• Knowledge in the use of easy tender software for Quantity Surveying
• Knowledge in the use Sketch-up, 3D Communication for Design
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher )
