I have worked for Spot On Public Relations on a freelance basis. My main duties were the translation of press releases, media invitations, financial reports, fact sheets, boilerplates, presentations and catalogues both from English to Arabic and Vice Versa. During my work with Spot On, my translations were diversified based on the type of client. My translations were mainly technical, and covered also telecoms, consultancy, publishing, banking, education, healthcare and other industrial companies.

Its dedicated, experienced and professional team of nearly 30, 000 people serves customers in some of the most dynamic economies in the world. DP World aims to enhance customers’ supply chain efficiency by effectively managing container, bulk and other terminal cargo.
The company constantly invests in terminal infrastructure, facilities and people, working closely with customers and business partners to provide quality services today and tomorrow, when and where customers need them.
Responsibilities
I helped during my work at the Media Manager’s office in the preparations of DP’s press conferences, in terms of contacting journalists, sending press invitations, translating press releases and preparation of press kits, meeting DP’s visitors to give them an idea about the company’s profile, works and projects. I also managed some of the administrative tasks in the media department, such as management of the filing system, writing, and translating circulars for distribution among other departments.
I mainly handled the translation of all the letters and correspondences in the department into English or Arabic. I also handled the Deputy’s agenda and travel arrangements. At some occasions I had to resolve all the issues communicated by VIP foreign customers of Etisalat by responding to them with elegance and patience, directing them to the right staff. I supported as well other members in the department in various day-to-day administrative tasks, like stationary requests and updating the HR Department on employees’ sick leaves and vacations and other requests pertaining to HR. I also ensured that all the offices’ equipment is running effectively, communicating with the IT Department, in case of any issues occurring.
My work as a translator was centred around the translation of all the office letters and circulars as well as all the plans for future or current projects by the Municipality. Occasionally, I had to answer some enquiries by some engineers and refer them to the concerned department. I also helped the managing engineer in preparing letters in both English and Arabic and sending them in mail dispatches.
