Responsibilities:
• Preparation of financial statements as per IFRS and performing performance analysis by comparison with the prior month, budget, and forecasts. Providing meaningful commentaries on variances to help with strategic decision-making.
• Supporting the reporting process to ensure compliance with statutory and financial reporting in HFM (Forbearance Reporting, LTV reporting, maturity analysis, etc.). Submission of Bank of England returns such as IS returns, ER returns, and MLAR Returns.
• Responsible for preparation, processing and posting of adjustments with supporting evidence and control in AMME.
• Month and annual close processes ensuring all transactions are recorded properly as per IFRS and preparing reconciliations for all sub-ledgers plus attestation for same.
• Managing external and internal audit requests on a timely basis.
• Consolidating various sub-products/entities in a segment and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders.
• Good hands-on experience with SAP, HFM, Inform, HADOOP, and HUE.
Key Projects and Achievements:
• Project Mantle: Played a vital role in the seamless acquisition and integration of Kensington Mortgage company with Barclays. It ensured that all required reporting and accounting processes were implemented for a new subsidiary to be set up under Barclays. This was a very complex transaction and was well-recognized by senior stakeholders.
• Received outstanding rating for FY2023 related to yearly performance and was awarded a boost five times in the first year with Barclays. I have been part of the Learning and development plus the Wellbeing stream.
Managing the control and governance of month end close, late journals process and deliverables related to
IFRS9
•Providing input and support process improvements using LEAN techniques, ensuring work and development
activities are the focus of continuous improvement.
•Support the development of process maps, identifying critical paths to create a plan and drive acceleration of
disclosure reporting process.
•Undertake impact assessment of issue on overall financials, downstream processes and associated
communication with different stakeholders.
•Prepare month end accounting, such as journals preparation, reviews and account reconciliations and
substantiation related to IFRS9.
•Assisting with yearly audit process and timely response on audit queries.
Monthly preparation of P/L statement for product Current Accounts in Retail Banking and presentation to
senior stakeholders such Strategic Finance Advisors and BI team.
Interact and work along with strategic finance partners to execute development of budget and monthly
forecasts.
•Comparison of Actuals for the month with RF and budget and providing commentary on same.
•Establishing proper control over Balance sheet and flag out if something needs urgent attention.
•Manage, develop and update standardized financial reporting packages that will help drive and support
business inclusive of business metrics and KPI’s.
•Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests from management for information and analysis.
•Investigate and create opportunities for automations and more efficient methods of creation and deliver needs
of internal customers, members and other stakeholders.
•Support special Projects as they arise.
