JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Organising and planning a programme of activities to suit the children’s stage of development whilst promoting positive behaviour.
• Leading and encouraging the staff to work in a team environment including scheduling of staff meeting’s to ensure maximum participation.
• Providing assistance to the effective induction for new members of staff following the guidelines and using the resources provided by the nursery; liaising with the Nursery Manager on performance and progress during the probationary period
• Recognising and developing staff through regular feedback.
• Ensuring the children’s’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is fostered appropriately.
• Maintaining up to date and accurate records and reports
• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children within the Nursery

• To assist in the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships with Parents/Carers, support agencies and students
• Assist with organising activities and valuable learning experiences suitable to the age range of children you are working with
• Assist in the preparation of children’s records, observations and reviews for parents in conjunction with other staff. Liaise with Parents/Careers for additional support if needed
• Excellent understanding of the developmental needs of babies and young children
• Experience of providing high quality childcare in a day care setting
• Recent practical working knowledge of EYFS to include statutory EYFS welfare requirements and tracking the development and progress of children
• Experience of partnership working with parents and carers
• Work alongside parents whose child may have additional needs to help provide a positive integrated environment
• Undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of meals, cleansing of equipment
• Work alongside all staff to ensure that the philosophy and policies of the nursery are fulfilled
• Attend training courses as and when required including outside of work hours. Attend staff meetings outside work hours
• To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the room supervisor or Nursery Manager
• All duties must be carried out in compliance with DTN&P and WWKC’s policies
