Deliver lectures in areas of IT & Computer Science, delivering lectures, seminars and tutorials; developing and implementing new methods of teaching to reflect changes in research; designing, preparing and developing teaching materials;
assessing students' coursework; setting and marking examinations; supporting students through a pastoral or advisory role; undertaking personal research projects and actively contributing to the institution's research profile; writing up research and preparing it for publication; supervising students' research activities.
Lead and initiate all technical discussions that will help customers identify gaps and opportunities’. I moved onto the Technology Strategist role after 30months as a Technology Specialist, on this role, am the single technical point of contact for Microsoft’s Public Sector, Government and Large Commercial customers in three Countries Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. Working closely with an array of resources across Middle East and Africa, I orchestrate the efforts that focus on helping our customers map their business priorities, objective and gaps with the right technology. As part of the role we develop relationships and are expected to be trusted Technology advisor for Governments, Public Sector & Large Commercial.
The Windows Live now O365 for Education is a program designed to offer digital tools and services to aid learning in Institutions of Higher learning that include Colleges and Universities. As the Technology Specialist, I was tasked with the mandate of driving the acceptance and adoption of the program within the education space in West, East, Central Africa and Indian Ocean Islands covering over 49 Countries. In partnership with Universities, Ministry of Education and Education stakeholders develop a plan for service subscription, deployment and adoption. The primary tools offered to the education communities included, digital content, developer tools, messaging and collaboration tools. To be successful on the role, the day to day tasks included, presenting the Windows Live @Edu Program to Universities and education institutions. Consisting in demonstrations, briefs to potential customers. Answer (phone, email, face to face) to customer technical question regarding the detail of the offer. Engaging the technical deployment: intermediate between the OSG-Online Support Group team in charge of migration and the customer, once the contract signed. Drive testimonials collection with WECA EHQ Marketing. Help customers to accelerate adoption among the students.
Initially positioned as a Computer Tutor, through consistent and exemplary performance, I rose to the rank of head of IT Training cum Lead IT Consultant on projects which involved design, planning and Implementing Microsoft Solutions for external Clients, provide Leadership for Staff in the Department supervising a team of 20 Trainers. Design new training and review existing programs while ensuring delivery of quality lectures, training materials, attendance and presence of all trainers in liaison with HRM. Overall responsible for trainers’ development and identification of their training needs, participate in the training in Design, deployment and implementation technical course modules Units. Equally, the first Technical Contact - Microsoft Partnership Program.
My immediate job role was that of training in a variety of course modules that included Computer Application Packages, Computer Graphics, Hardware & Software Maintenance, Networks, MS FrontPage, HTML, and QuickBooks. Over time I was handed additional responsibilities that included, supervising a team of seven (team of seven staff, four trainers, two Cyber Admins, and a Career Adviser), conducting and supervising routine hardware/software/network maintenance maintaining 70 computers in a top working condition. As the Institution portfolio expanded I was positioned as the technical point of contact to offer advice on organizations IT goals, Policy and implementation of the same, while at the same time develop and Maintain Student Reference manuals, administer exams, conduct daily backup of all accounting data and sensitive computer files as the overall technical adviser and IT consultant for the organization’s group of companies.
My primary focus at Tosha Learning Centre was content delivery in IT Literacy Course; skills based training in Office applications while at the same time offering IT Technical support for the existing Campus Network. Tosha learning was a new Institution then, there was a lot of course material development, testing and administration of skills assessment tools that included exams and practical.
