Professional Services Consultant à Misys International Banking Systems
  • Émirats Arabes Unis - Dubaï
  • septembre 2008 à février 2012

Misys International Banking Systems (www.misys.com) is one of the world's leading providers of software solutions for banking, treasury and capital markets.

As a consultant, I implemented Opics Treasury Solutions (conventional and Islamic modules) for banks in Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon, Kenya and Angola. I was heavily involved in all aspects of product implementation which include requirements gathering, training, process reengineering, resolving
issues, system configuration, report customization using SQL, client support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), go-live, and post go-live support.

Aside from these, I accomplished the following:
• Advised project team members (from treasury dealership to IT Steering Committee) on matters ranging from industry best practices to preventing audit findings.
• Conducted requirements gathering and Opics workshops for clients, covering parameter setup, process reengineering, deal processing, and accounting configuration. I customized the workshops based on the training needs of the attendees.
• Wrote a Business Analysis document detailing the scope of project based on client requirements.
• Developed a Go-Live plan, a comprehensive schedule covering migration of active deals to post-go-live reconciliation and support.
• Assigned and monitored team member activities versus project plans. Guided clients on preparing test plans for UAT.

Treasury Manager à Bahay Financial Services

  • janvier 2008 à août 2008

Bahay Financial Services (www.bfs.com.ph) is a real estate mortgage servicing and asset management firm that is minority-owned by Asian Development Bank and International Finance Corporation.

I was in charge of the Treasury Department, composed of 7 team members. I was heavily involved in reengineering of internal processes and strengthening of internal controls on issuance of receipts and safety of cash.

As treasury manager I was also able to establish treasury policies on investments, check preparation, and credit risk management. This transformed treasury from a "cost center" into a quasi- "profit center." Finally, I negotiated with the company's depository banks for better cash management arrangements, which reduced check disbursement time by as much as 1 business day.

  • à Ateneo de Manila University - Graduate School of Business
  • juillet 2002

I completed my Masters Degree in Business Administration (thesis program). Although it usually takes at least 3 years to finish a part-time MBA, I finished it in only 2 years. I was on the Dean's List for the first trimester in my second year. My MBA thesis was a strategic management paper on The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi. The quality of my thesis was enough for my thesis adviser (the current dean of the graduate school) to approve it for defense without any revisions whatsoever. I successfully defended my paper in front of 3 panelists, also without any revisions.

Baccalauréat, Business Administration, Major in Computer Applications
  • à De La Salle University - College of Saint Benilde
  • avril 1998

This is a Business degree with a major in computer applications (software development). I interned with International Business Machines (IBM) Philippines for 3 months starting January 1998. I was part of the first batch of graduating students who wrote a Business Process Improvement (BPI) thesis in lieu of the traditional software thesis. In January 1998, I successfully defended my BPI thesis on the college's IT Software and Hardware Acquisition Process. My thesis is one of the few kept in the college library to serve as unofficial guides to students. This thesis served as future material for assignments given to my classmates in Operations Management class in my MBA. I was a features writer for the University paper; I wrote articles on diverse topics such as: political prisoners, children with autism, Alcoholics Anonymous, and hospital emergency rooms during New Year's Eve. As a student leader, I was treasurer of the school's environmental consciousness society; because of the organization's outstanding financial performance, I won the Treasurer of the Year awards for 1997. I was elected president the succeeding year. For that same year, I ran for Vice President of the school's student council, but did not get elected. Finally, I was a school representative in a congress for student leaders organized by the Catholic Educators Association of the Philippines for two straight years.
