Consultant at Classified
  • India - Delhi
  • January 2007 to December 2010

I have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement valid till 31 December 2015 with an Aerospace and Armament Manufacturing Company.
My job with this company was to write/rewrite/edit classified PowerPoint presentations, White Papers, Executive Summaries and Sales Proposals for a total value exceeding $7.5 billion under extreme time pressure. I used my contacts in the IAF to good effect.
I was in and out of India for those three years. My salary was $3, 000 pm plus allowances.

Editor, WTO Specialist and Technical Advisor at Contact Communication
  • India - Delhi
  • March 2003 to June 2007

Original, resourceful, meticulous, detail-oriented and highly skilled in editing, proofreading, writing and rewriting anything and everything printed, I brought my vast experience into play to meet the company's subscribers' requirements to their entire satisfaction.

One of my jobs was to trim long articles of what was not theme or magazine-focus oriented. I also wrote Academic/ Business / Technical articles while editing and proofreading magazines, pamphlets, novels, novellas, academic & other non-fiction educational works, theses and website content.

A ‘Think out of the box’ exponent, I produce clean, crisp and precise work. My work at a conclave at IMB, Germany in 2006 was so impressive that I was hired by a renowned aerospace company to write classified proposals/ papers/ presentations at Company HQ for the next three years, targeted at the multi-billion Indian defense market.

I was also a founder member of StitchWorld International Forum of Technologists (SWIFT), which examined, among a host of other issues, what was amiss in Indian workplace ethics, incentives and motivation, rewarding outstanding workers without being divisive and the tricky issue of gender discrimination. Do check out http://stitchworld.net/display1.asp?msg=409&cat=TechEvents and
http://www.stitchworld.net/display1.asp?msg=446&cat=TechEvents, both written by me. I feature in the photographs in both.

For the other two magazines, ApparelOnline and Trend Fusion, I wrote as a specialist on the WTO, particularly on the Agreement on Textiles and Clothing (ATC) and all restrictions thereunder(quotas); Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); the ISO 9000 family of quality control mechanisms; ILO’s SA 8000, etc..

I have just completed designing the syllabus for Finance and Business Studies, based on Glencoe’s “Teacher’s Annotated Edition”, for the state of New Jersey, USA and will be called upon to set examination papers in the near future in a separate contract.

Education

Master's degree, Defence Studies
  • at Anna University
  • March 1992

I am a specialist in Low Intensity Conflicts and used my expertise in this field to facilitate getting my Master's Degree in Military Science. “India has suffered too much to remain passive. The use of force should not be restricted to a limited reply. India has crossed the nascent stage insofar as implementing hi-tech gadgetry is concerned. Let us demonstrate it. The net result of constantly looking at the barrel of a gun creates mental pressure on the poor man at the Border where he is totally unaware of the what, why and wherefores. All he knows is that his life is worth much less than Medal Winners at Sports and Games. It may lead to psychological problems and there have been a few cases of mental imbalance, more so at the heights of Siachen. LIC has won Round 1.”

Master's degree, English
  • at Pune University
  • March 1987

An alumnus of Loyola School and Junior College, Pune, I hold a Diploma in German, obtained in 1970 from Goethe-Institut at Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune. A linguist, I also speak French, Hindi and three other regional languages. I have received the Best Mirage-2000 Pilot Award from Mr. Serge Dassault. I had the best possible education and was taught English Literature by a German Jesuit and Contemporaneous English by a Swiss Jesuit. Getting an MA in English was easy; my thesis was on "The Bastardization of The English Language." My thesis was well received and parts of it were published in local newspapers. My predictions are coming true-the typewriter has been replaced by a computer, which is programmed in American English.
