As a Senior Consultant, I prepare market studies, also highest & best use studies (HBUs) for various real estate assets such as residential, retail, office, and industrial sectors, by means of market research, benchmarking and collecting data, upon which conclusions and recommendations will be made.
Key Roles:
- Report writing and compiling of market studies, and highest & best use studies (HBUs), involving quantitative and/or qualitative methodologies.
- Prepare market research and analysis reports in MENA region including UAE, GCC, Egypt, and any other assigned international markets such as Seychelles and Malta.
- Assist in developing financial assumptions, populating & amending financial models.
- Prepare detailed benchmarking reports on different real estate assets (residential, commercial, and industrial).
- Prepare macroeconomic and demographic overviews.
- Provide development briefs including pricing matrix, area schedule, occupancy/absorption rates and unit mix.
- Site location analysis by means of site visits within UAE and overseas.
- Prepare research papers and publications on the key subjects to help promote the company’s brand.
- Assist in client meetings and make contributions when required by the senior person present.
- Lead Cairo Research Team to maintain the database of Egypt market.
- Lead Cairo Analyst Team in report writing and data analysis for Egypt market.
- Train and assign research tasks to Junior team members.
- Train Junior team members (Analysts) and familiarize them with Colliers templates.
- Check field research done by Junior team members (Analysts), monitor their progress and output.
- Assist in proposal preparations and other pitch documents as and when required.
- Translation of reports to Arabic when required by the Client.

During the first 3 years of my BA degree, we were recommended to take general business and commerce courses, but all the elective courses I selected were related to Banking & Finance, Economics and Accounting. During my senior year I selected my courses to be specialized in Banking & Finance.
