Senior Quality Assurance & NPD Manager

currently working in a very well know group of companies in Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia named “Savola Foods”. Savola group is one of the leading business
group in KSA and the largest company in Food business.
I am working in edible oil segment, which is not only mother company of the group but also occupies the biggest business compare to the other business units of the group in terms of revenue, volume and head count. In this capacity my responsibility to manage day to day QA related activity by controlling raw and packaging materials, standardization and controlling process parameters etc. I am
also responsible for new suppliers, raw/packaging/additives development and approval by conducting lab and plant trial.
In same capacity I am looking after New Product Development (NPD) Process
with coordination of Savola Global Innovation team. I have travelled many
countries across the continents for product development and suppliers'
evaluation/technical support. I am the person who taken initiative to introduce
more automation and systematic NPD process by reducing human involvement in
follow up and system controled time frame with respect to nature of the projects.
As Afia International is certified for ISO 9001, 22000 & 14000, RSPO, BRC and
Halal. As Q.A. Sr. Manager I am responsible to direct and control the overall
internal and external audit process for Quality Management Systems by reviewing
and approving the audit plans, and outputs (Proposal for Improvements, Problem
Reports, Preventive and Corrective Actions). Standardization of the system,
effective management of Quality related functions by ensuring GMP norms,
compliance to Regulatory requirements, vendor assessment & approval and
continuous improvement. Also Implementation of preventive programs to
optimize the products and the process.
Handling customers' complaint finding root cause and accordingly prepare CAPA
to avoid recurrence of the same issue and submit detailed investigation report to
the customer and keep following complainer until the complete satisfaction.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
o Introduced and implemented a new concept of Quality Culture in Savola group, followed by formal training sessions and conducting assessment audits of each BU of the group globally.
o I conducted R&D work on blended oil of Afia profile and introduced most economical blend composition without compromising quality parameters. The blend was proven a breakthrough for the KSA market and due to new blend the sale of the segment has been increased by 400%.
o I taken the initiative to introduce automation in NPD process and reduce the human involvement in follow up by system controlled time frame with respect to the nature of the projects.
o As NPD administrator I worked jointly with Marketing team and have participated active role in products development and due to our effort we could launched many new products in the market and this is not ended here, we also opened new channels of the products.
o I am the person who introduced/invented many analytical and sensory tests
of the oil.

I was working in Bahrain with a French group IMERYS, this group is
world's one of the largest producer of Fused Minerals. Here my department's
responsibilities are to check the raw material quality and take initiative and decide to send
the material either washing unite or Fusion plant. Department is also checks the quality of
during process samples, finished goods and control the parameters of discharged effluent.

Before IMERYS I was working in an automatic PLC
based edible oil refinery with the production capacity of 1600 MTS. per Day, named
“Mapak Edible Oils (Pvt.) Ltd.”, a joint venture of Pakistani group Westbury and
Malaysian group FELDA. Where my responsibility to define and implement Quality
Strategy and provide technical support on all quality related activities to facilitate
continuous improvement at the factory & lead the Q.A team.
Effective management of Quality related functions by ensuring GMP norms, compliance
to Regulatory requirements, Audits (HACCP, SEDEX and Internal). Vendor assessment
and approval. Implementation of preventive programs that optimize products and process.
I was Trainer for Basic Food Hygiene in our Factory premises. Conduct and identify
training needs for the work force to maintain Hygiene. Create awareness among factory
staff about Hygiene & Sanitation.
My department was also responsible to look after the “Effluent Treatment Plant” to keep
the parameters of discharge effluent in the range, specified by environmental authorities.
HACCP COMMITTEE MEMBER: I was the member of HACCP committee, Audit
team and Technical Representative of Mapak Edible Oil (Pvt) Ltd.

o I joint Mapak when the plant erection was under progress; I started my
department from none. I established a well-equipped laboratory, compiled the
analysis methods, designed the Lab manual, marked the sampling areas,
involved in employing the staff in Q.A. Department.
o I was the person who initiated for HACCP implementation within the
organization and fully involved in HACCP study and format designing on the
bases of HACCP principles. I completed the given task by the assigned
deadline.
o I initiated to bring some alteration at product delivery area in our Operation
Department to protect the quality of our finished products during and after
delivery.

o To decrease the refining losses, I amended old practices in plant and defined
some new adjusted parameters with coordination of production Department.
o These readjusted parameters are not only giving good yield but decreasing the
production losses too.

: Kohinoor Group of Companies is a well-known group in
Pakistan. I was working as “Head of Quality Control Department” in Kohinoor Soap &
Detergents (Pvt.) Ltd. I was incharge of fourteen members' team. In this role my
responsibilities were to ensure the quality of daily production by controlling Raw
material and packaging material.
Co-ordinate with the production staff & Management for Quality Compliance,
Key Person responsible for representing, design/art work of packaging, details
of new product launch.
I was also responsible for Research and Development for the company. I have
introduced new methods of analysis and bring many changes in soap processing to
improve the quality of the products. Conducting R&D trials as per market demand,
market visits to get the information about Competitive Brand status i.e. Price,
Packing, blend, quality etc.
Research & Development Chemist: I was appointed by Kohinoor Soap &
Detergents as ‘R & D Chemist' in Research & Development Department, in September
