This Local NGO has a lot to offer in terms to experience. In the few months I have been here, everyday I add new responsibilities.
I started work responsible mainly for updating the website www.lostlb.org with original articles written by me. Since then I have written reports to sponsors, concept notes, budget sheets and proposals. I even started teaching English in the Language Center here.
I am responsible for keeping up with all events going on in each individual project. I make the weekly schedule that is distributed to all project directors and field officers in order to avoid overlap.
I use Twitter and Facebook to post content about upcoming and past events.
At NHR Media, I started off as a magazine reporter and editor covering events at local colleges and universities and local news. As the website filled with content, I decided to make my own radio show. I worked radio broadcaster two days a week, interviewing international students about their culture, language and experience in America. My show was educational and had a devoted set of listeners as well as newcomers every week.
I continued to TV and co hosted a show with my colleague called Intern-tainment Weekly.
And Monday-Friday when I wasn't broadcasting or writing, I was marketing and searching for talents to join the show. I reached out Youtubers and Social Media Activists to gain their permission in advertising on their channels.
I also videographed and edited videos using Final Cut Pro.
The Mace and Crown is the university newspaper where I fell in love with news and media. I covered events inside and outside the university. My news beat was health and entertainment.
