offers, contract negotiations, procurement, delivery and installation)
- Monitoring the installation of the plant grounding system and lightning protection as per the applicable
standards
- Monitoring the installation and testing of all E and I equipment and ensuring that all is done as per Wilmar
requirements and standards. (Transformers, Cables, Bus duct, Panels, Plant and street (solar) lighting,
HVAC, cable racking, instruments, PLCs, ATG systems etc. )
-Supervision of contractors in the whole site
-Availing site temporary power for contractors
- Performing electrical safety audits to ensure a safe working environment for all contractors
-Crosschecking that the electrical Bill of materials for the project is appropriately done according to the
project specifications before releasing tenders
-Preparation of site functional design specifications for the system integrator
- Completing quality assurance on all electrical components and projects, and writing up reports
-Diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment
- Ensuring all deadlines and budgetary requirements are met for the timely completion of the project
My tasks in the ongoing construction of a 12T/hr rice mill factory are as follows :
• Monitoring and executing the installation of electrical equipment in the site ( motors, instruments, lights, Air conditioners, cable work, earthing system installation etc.)
• Acquisition and installation of all switchgear according to Wilmar standards for the site in conjunction with Dharia Switchgear and controls
• Installation of 2.5MVA transformer and its respective earthing system
• Design of cable tray layouts and erection of cable tray
• Developing project schedules to ensure adherence to deadlines
• Collaborating with the Project Manager and contactors to create design modifications to improve productivity, to suit the equipment to be installed, comply with Wilmar standards and minimize downtime (in conjuction with L and T india and Advent construction Limited)
• Supervision of contractors during the whole project
• Availing site teporary poer for contractors
• crosschecking that the electrical Bill of materials for the project is appropriatley done according to the project specifications
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Monitoring and executing the installation of electrical equipment and instruments in the new soap plant project (African consumer products Ghana Limited), erection of plant equipment and switchgear, termination of cables both plant and panel side (including PLC), installation of lighting system and air conditioning, commissioning of the plant and making sure all equipment is installed according to the specified standards ( in this case, Wilmar Electrical and Instrumentation standards) in conjunction with Mazzoni LB Italy, Bonch Electrical Ghana, ECG Ghana, Plant and Property Automation Ghana (Sept 2017- April 2018)
• Supervision of contractors during the soap plant project
• Planning, monitoring and execution of work done on a daily basis in the plant, especially during the course of the project
• Availing of site temporary power to all contractors involved in the project
• General maintenance of electrical equipment (both planned and reactive)e.g. motors, transformers, generator, switchgears
• Troubleshooting of faults on plant equipment and using my electrical engineering knowledge to solve problems
• Generation of reports, presentations, SOPs for Electrical and Instrumentation department
• Planning and execution of installation of backup power 1.2KW diesel generator in conjunction with Mantrack Ghana (March 2018)
The following are the jobs tasks I currently do :
• General maintenance of electrical equipment e.g. motors, transformers, generators
• Troubleshooting of all faults in plant equipment
• Generation of reports and presentations
• Conduction of SHE audits in different plants according to Wilmar standards
• Motor overhauling and troubleshooting
• Studying of the oil maufacturing system and different sections e.g. Preparatory crushing plant, Desolventising plant, De-oiled cake plant, refinery and Reverse Osmosis plant
• Realization of solutions using the knowledge of electrical engineering
leading projects at the power station, main projects done were;
• Installation and commissioning 140MVA, 330kv Generator Transformer Turnkey project in conjuntion with Helcraw (January 2015)
• Installation and commissioning of 2X20MVA Transformers conjuntion with Helcraw (August 2014)
• Installation and commissioning of 11Kv, 3.3kV, 380V switchgear boards conjuntion with ABB (February 2014 and current project)
