BSc (Honours) Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Science Final Year overview: A deeper study of pharmaceutical and cosmetic product design, quality, manufacturing processes, materials science and advanced systems for drug delivery. This also included a dissertation on dielectrics where I was able to apply myself as a scientist. In addition there was also a group GMP project where knowledge of how pharmaceutical companies and the MHRA operate was acquired as well as theoretical work on product safety which involved analysing clinical trials and learning about GCP. The course provided the knowledge and skills required for the formulation, manufacture, marketing, selling and evaluation of products in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics or toiletries industries. First Year overview: Subjects such as chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology, which give the scientific background, were covered. Formulation, through a comprehensive course in compounding, and process technology were also introduced. Personal and communication skills were developed at the same time.
